This research aimed at finding out (1)the improvement of the ability in creative mathematical thinking, (2) the improvement of the ability in reasoning and creative mathematical thinking for high, medium, and low level students. and (3) the interactions between students’ preliminary ability and the learning approach in improving the reasoning and creative mathematical thinking. By involving PBL in learning requires students to think creatively to generate new ideas in learning. The design of the research was quasi experiment. The sample were the student of VIII.9 at SMPN 31 Padang and the students of VIII.1 at SMPN 25Padang.The result of the research showed that (1) the improvement of students’ ability in creative mathematical thinking for those who were taught by using PBL was better than those who were taught by using the conventional learning, (2) the improvement of students’ ability in creative mathematical thinking for the high, medium, and low level students who were taught by using PBL was better than those who were taught by using the conventional learning, and (3) there was interaction between the preliminary ability and the learning approach to students’ creative mathematical thinking ability.
This research was aimed at revealing the effect of using Team Assisted Individualization cooperative learning model on improvement mathematics problem solving ability in class VIII of MTsN Kota Padang. This was a Quasi Experimental research which used quantitative and descriptive approach. The population of the research was the students in class VIII of MTsN Kota Padang. By using Random Sampling technique, class VIII3 of MTsN Lubuk Buaya Kota Padang was chosen as the experimental class and class VIII7 of MTsN Koto Tangah Kota Padang was chosen as the control class. In collecting the data, observation sheet, pre-test, questionnaire and pretest-posttest were used. Based on the result of the research, some conclusions were drawn. First, mathematics problem solving ability fluctuated. Second, mathematics problem solving ability of the students taught by using Team Assisted Individualization cooperative learning model was higher than that of students taught by using conventional model. Third, mathematics problem solving of the students having high and low previous ability taught by using Team Assisted Individualization cooperative learning model was higher than that of students having high and low previous ability taught by using conventional model.
This research analyzed the perception of undergraduate students on learning English. This research adopted the theory on perception proposed by Efron (1968) in which he stated that perception is the primary cognitive contact of person with the world around him. It was completed by adopting quantitative method in which the data were collected by sharing questionnaire to undergraduate students as its respondents. The questionnaire was tested by Product Moment Pearson to meet its validity with t-table larger than r-table, and by Alpha Coefficient to meet its reliability with Cronbach's Alpha value larger than 0,6. Furthermore, the data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed by using Likert Scale with four alternative responses. They were Strongly Disagree (0% -24.99%), Disagree (25% -49.99%), Agree (50% -74.99%), and Strongly Agree (75% -100%). The research found that the perception of the respondents towards English learning is 66%.
Sports using balls are very popular with people who can provide pleasure and also train gross motor skills in children. However, some children, especially those in elementary school, are still afraid to use a ball. This is a problem that needs to be addressed, because the ball is the most popular game for children today. Physical education teachers need to find ways to help children not be afraid to play ball.
This study created a test instrument that can test students' understanding of the macroscopic, sub-microscopic and symbolic levels in acid-base titration material that has been tested for validity, reliability, difficulty index and differential power of the questions . This development research uses the Rasch model. The subjects of this study were four lecturers, two high school chemistry teachers and 35 students of SMA N 2 Padang. The object is the quality of the test instrument that meets the criteria of validity, reliability, difficulty index and discriminatory power . Data analysis used the MiniFac and Ministep programs. This study has 10 stages, namely: (1) Defining the construct, (2) Identifying the construct, (3) Designing the items, (4) Testing the product, (5) Analyzing the data, (6) Reviewing the results of the analysis, (7) Reviewing the map wright, (8) Repeat steps 4-7, (9) Claim product quality, (10) Develop documentation. The results showed that the suitability of validation by experts using the MiniFac program was the exact agreement and expected agreement values were very close, namely 95.8% and 95.4%, this indicated that the results of this analysis fit the model and its estimation. Likewise testing of students using the Ministep program. Each item can be said to be valid because it meets the criteria of the MNSQ, ZSTD and PtMean Corr. The instrument is also claimed to be reliable because it has a value of 0.92 . The difficulty index and discriminating power of the items also varied from the easiest to the most difficult.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
