<div class="WordSection1"><p>The aim of this research are (1) describing language evaluation on students’ article on attitude (2) describing language evaluation on students’ article on engagement (3) describing language evaluation on students’ article on graduation. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative that is done by concordance method analysis and distribution by using a software of Simple Concordance Program (SCP). The data for this research is an article text written by the students of Indonesia department. The result shows that (1) the inclination of using lexis 0f negative attitude that is showed on negative affect, value, and appreciation by the students. (2) the inclination of using lexis of negative graduation by the students through writing the domination of metaphor in the phenomenon happened in society. (3) the system of appraisal in the article written by the students is graduation ^ engagement ^ attitude. This result showed because the writers of an article mostly use the function of language to strengthen and weaken the attitude and engagement related to the text inwriting their article.</p></div>
The best way to provide information as quickly and correctly that it is conveyed to consumers is a good advertising. So the buyers can see the advertisements delivered before buying something that they want. Multimodal analysis is one way how to analyze an object that we shown from a visual of it. Teh Pucuk is one of an advertisement that showing a multimodal analysis that we can see from the descriptive of the information of Teh pucuk and also about a visual design of it.
The digitization of education is the use of technology as an aspect of the learning system, from the curriculum to the education system, which has a very big influence on innovation. As society and academic demand increase in the modern era, the online learning system (OLS) is encountered by society and academics. The multimodal approach refers to the huge learning competence in English ability as if the method or application is integrated in a digitizing manner. The multimodal approach contains using images, verbal and visual integration with words or text which provides meanings in the mode of communication. The process of analyzing and disclosing the text will give essence to the meaning of a picture message in a printed book will reveal projection, enhancement, concurrence. All of which are discussed based on linguistic analysis to relate the text to the general characteristics of language both verbally and visually. Systemic function Linguistics based on the concept of metafunction has ideational, interpersonal, and textual components linking the internal forms of language and their use in semiotic social contexts will be enacted to the research. The research will use descriptive and qualitative methods.
This study was aimed to observe the use of Shadowing technique to improve students’ ability in listening comprehension. This research was conducted by using classroom action research which is consist of two cycles. The sample of the research was one group out of four groups of the first semester students’ of English Department of Nommensen KHBP university which was selected by using random sampling technique. Listening test, observation sheets and diary notes were employed to collect the data. Quantitatively, it showed that there were an improvement of listening ability from the students since the first up to the last treatments. The result showed that in the first treatment there is no students who got the point up to 75. But it increased to 37.5% in the end of the second treatment and 94.28% in the end of the last treatment. Qualitatively, the result showed that the students felt better, easier, and interesting to learn listening that leading to the acquirement of more successful listening comprehension skill. Therefore, shadowing technique could be used to improve students’ ability in listening comprehension. Keywords: Listening comprehension, shadowing technique
