The study aimed to investigate the levels of lipid fractions in the serum of premenopausal and postmenopausal women in Kirkuk city, because an alteration of there concentrations considered an important predisposing factors for incidence of cardiovascular disease. The study included 100 premenopausal women raged age 27-45 years and 90 postmenopausal women ranged age 51-67 years. The blood samples were collected and centerfuged for determination of total cholesterol(TC) , triglyceride(TG), low density lipoprotein(LDL-C), high density lipoprotein(HDL-C), and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL-C) concentrations .The results of the study revealed no significant differences (p>o.o5) for TC level, but there was a significant increase (p<0.05) in the level of TG in postmenopausal women (143.13 ± 38.14) mg/dl When compared with the premenopausal women (102.88 ± 34.11

Salih and Fatma Mustafa Mohammed, Emergence of Metallo-b-Lactamase producing Isolates of Pseudomonas aeruogenosa Urinary Tract Infection in Children, J Pure Appl Microbiol., 2019; 13(4):2309-2316. https:// AbstractInfections with Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates producing Metallo-b-Lactamase (MBL) is a serious worldwide infections. It is associated with, higher mortality rates, more severe disease implicated and with a higher incidence of invasive disease than infections with the bacterial isolate of MBLnonproducers. This bacteria disseminated in many countries worldwide, with no reports available about their presence in Iraq. The present study was conducted to investigate the changes and the intensity of antibiotics resistance pattern of pediatric urinary tract infection (UTI) in duration of 2 years as well as reporting the first emergence of Metallo-b-Lactamase producing P aerugenosa in Iraq. Standard methods used for isolation and identification of bacteria. Carbapenem-resistance P. aeruginosa UTI isolates were tested for the presence of metallo-b-lactamases productino. This is the first report of the presence of Metallo-b-Lactamase producing P aerugenosa in Iraq region. The results showed no differences in resistance pattern among Gram positive bacteria isolated. While, their was a dramatic increase of Escherichia coli resistance which showed high sensitivity rate to cefotaxim (72.4%), recording an increasing rate of resistance by 12% during 2 years. Klebsiellae pneumoniae resistance profile were increased dramatically during 2 years to trimethoprim and cefotaxim to reach 30 % and 11% respectively, when compaired with our previous study. Regarding P. aeroginosae, there was further increase in resistance toward azithromycin, gentamicin and oxacillin by recording 14%, 11.6% and 11.6% of resistance rates respectively. The striking results of the present study was to find the resistant bacterial isolates of P. aeruginosae toward imipineme. Precisely, 4 (31.8%) out of 13 UTI isolates was found to be resistant to imipineme. In conclusion their was an different increasing resistance rates of isolates toward antibiotics, also an emergence of new MBL producing P. eaurogenosa.
The study was conducted on patients with type 2 diabetes in Kirkuk governorate for the period from March 2016 to July 2016. The aim of the study was to evaluate some variables for diabetics who were referred to clinics and specialized laboratories in Kirkuk governorate. The study included 124 female samples ranging in age from 38-69 years. These samples were divided into 4 groups. A group of 40 healthy samples representing the control group were free of diabetes and chronic diseases. Group (B) of the 18 sample, and included patients with type II diabetes are treated with the drug Glimepiride . And group (C) of 29 samples of diabetic patients treated with metformin and group (D) 37 samples of diabetic patients treated with metformin and Glimepiride together. The results of the present study showed that there were significant statistical differences (p≤ 0.05) for the body mass in general in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus when compared with healthy control. Also, there were in statistically significant increase (p≤ 0.05) in HbA1c and blood glucose for diabetic patients in the three groups compared to healthy females. The results of the current study showed that interleukin 17 was higher in diabetic patients in general, especially in the group C, D with a significant level (p≤ 0.05) compared to the healthy. As for the fat level a significant levels were recorded (p≤ 0.05) (p≤ 0.01) . There was a significant overall increase in both TG LDL VLDL CH and a decrease in HDL.
