ÖzetBireyin doğduğu tarihteki ekonomik, teknolojik ve çevresel şartlar her dönem birbirinden farklı olacağından kişiliğini de etkileyeceği düşünülmektedir. Bu düşünceden hareketle doğum tarihi baz alınarak kuşaklar sınıflandırması yapılmaktadır. Bu sınıflandırmanın en genç tabakası olan Z kuşağı teknoloji merkezli ve çok odaklı bir yaşam tarzı benimsemektedir. Bireylerin doğum tarihlerine göre sahip oldukları bakış açısı farklılıkları, geleceğe yönelik tutumlarını da değiştirmektedir. Bu noktadan hareketle çalışmanın amacı Z Kuşağının kariyer tercihlerini, gelecek beklentisini ve iş hayatında önemsediği değerleri belirlemektir. Bu amaca yönelik olarak masa başı bir iş sahibi olmaya karşılık kendi girişiminin patronu olma eğilimleri ölçülen 102 Turizm bölümü öğrencisinin iş hayatına yönelik saygın bir iş sahibi olma, yeteneklerini gösterme ve işten zevk alma gibi değerlere önem verdiği tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma, henüz kararsız olan Z Kuşağının doğru bir yönlendirme ve nitelikli eğitimle ekonomik gelişime katkıda bulunacak girişimciler olabileceğini göstermesi açısından önem taşımaktadır. ENTREPRENEURSHIP TENDENCY OF Z GENERATION: A STUDY ON UNDERGRADUATES AbstractIt is thought that the economic, technological and environmental conditions in the birthdate will affect the personality because these factors are different in each period. From this point of view, the classification of generation is based on the birthday. Z Generation which is the youngest layer of this classification embraces a technology-centered and multiple lifestyles. The differences in perspectives that individuals have according to their dates of birth also change their attitudes toward the future. From this point of view, the aim of the study is to determine the preferences of Z generation for career preferences, future expectations and the values of the business life. It has been found that 102 tourism department students, whose are analyzed the own their business against the desk job, consider the values of having a reputable job, showing their talents and enjoying work. The study is crucial because it shows that the undecided Z generation can be an entrepreneur who contributes to economic development through accurate orientation and qualified education.
This study assessed the relationships between democratic leadership and organizational cynicism among the public employees in the sample. The correlation value shows that there is a negative relationship between variables. Also, the democratic leadership can be considered as one of the predictors of the organizational cynicism with three sub-dimensions as cognitive, affective, and behavioral cynicism. Depending on the ttest results, there are not significant differences between two groups with the organizational cynicism and democratic leadership. Understanding the negative effect of the democratic leadership on the organizational cynicism indicates that the behavior of the leader can determine the perception of the employee directly.
Going beyond adapting to the changing world in the globalization environment or finding new solutions for different needs is only possible with a broad perspective. This perspective requires strategically selecting the team members while understanding the principles of an effective team and using a participatory approach, culture, and synergy to guide the team to achieve exponential results. Therefore, entrepreneurs try to seize opportunities and achieve sustainable success by creating a culture that feeds on differences in realizing the business idea. From this point of view, synergistic entrepreneurship, which is one of the types of entrepreneurship that is open to new perspectives and learns from differences, is mentioned. Also, the contribution of a continuous development approach to achieve high performance with innovative solutions is discussed in this chapter of the book.
This chapter on international businesses and environmental issues addresses the relationship between activities of international businesses and environmental goals. Because of the increasing awareness about environmental issues, the related groups, international policies, and relation force the businesses to be more environmentally friendly and consider the future of resources in their operations. The international regulations, declarations, and other pressures can change the usages of the businesses. The combination of the planet, profit, and people are conceived to protect nature with the aim of growth. From this viewpoint, this chapter provides an overview of the environmental issues, international politics, relations, standards, and successful examples of businesses about being environmentally conscious.
The long term and recent effects of globalization and increasing ethnic and gender diversity are turning the attention of leaders to the management of cultural differences in a diverse and inclusive organizational culture. The pressure to change or adapt requires organizations to value diversity in order to increase organizational effectiveness and synergy. Starting from this point of view, this chapter reviews and offers suggestions on how transformational leadership in an inclusive culture can create a commitment, higher performance, and sustainability with diversity management in a public organization. Understanding expectations in different circumstances is crucial to creating passionate employees with a positive attitude for the organization.
Due to the complexity of human psychology, well-being depends on many factors, so it is helpful to consider different aspects in a multidisciplinary way. However, it is still unclear how these factors, which are the keys to a better life, will be affected by digital transformation. There are both challenges and opportunities in areas such as work-life balance, social connections, civic engagement, and governance. From this point of view, in this chapter, firstly the digitalization process, then the concepts of psychological adjustment and digital well-being, are mentioned.
