The distribution of arrival time of energetic hadrons in the near-core region of air showers of energies -lo4-lo6 GeV relative to the shower front has been studied experimentally at mountain altitude. The observed rate of hadron events with (i) energy > 50 GeV in the calorimeter, (ii) associated shower particle density > 18 m-2, and (iii) a signal
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
