Objetivo: Analisar os efeitos da cirurgia bariátrica na remissão diabética. Revisão Bibliográfica: A cirurgia bariátrica tem como fim a perda de peso corpóreo gerado pela obesidade, por isso ela se relaciona com a melhora da síndrome metabólica. Sendo assim, quando tal procedimento tem o objetivo de atenuar os sintomas de tal patologia, é nomeado cirurgia metabólica, afinal, esse é capaz de ocasionar a remissão da diabetes tipo 2, a qual é uma doença crônica metabólica caracterizada pela resistência periférica à insulina. Ademais, a principal técnica utilizada é a derivação gastrojejunal em Y-de-Roux, por ter menores índices de mortalidade e por gerar resultados mais satisfatórios em comparação aos tratamentos medicamentosos. Outrossim, a diminuição dos triglicerídeos e do LDL causam benefícios evidentes, como a diminuição de riscos cardiovasculares, além da melhora dos parâmetros cardiometabólicos, por exemplo da pressão arterial e da cintura abdominal. Por outro lado, ocorre uma deficiência na absorção de ferro, vitaminas e minerais após a cirurgia. Considerações finais: Esse procedimento cirúrgico é uma alternativa significativamente benéfica tanto na remissão diabética quanto na melhoria da autoestima e da qualidade de vida.
Objetivo: Analisar as controvérsias da relação entre o uso de anticoncepcional hormonal oral e o câncer de mama. Revisão bibliográfica: O anticoncepcional hormonal oral é um método contraceptivo eficaz, possui baixo custo e está disponível no sistema único de saúde. Entretanto, a atual propagação de notícias falsas nas redes sociais associam constantemente os anticoncepcionais hormonais ao aumento da incidência de câncer (CA) de mama, originando um medo irracional na população. A literatura científica demonstra como esse assunto é controverso: alguns estudos descrevem relação positiva; outros descrevem que não há nenhuma. Os artigos concordam que outros fatores de risco como idade, predisposição genética, obesidade e hábitos de vida possuem maior relevância no desenvolvimento de CA de mama do que o próprio anticoncepcional. Dessa forma, o profissional da saúde deve adaptar um plano singular, instruir sua paciente com as reais informações científicas sobre os métodos contraceptivos e escolher em conjunto de acordo com suas individualidades. Considerações finais: Há muitas controvérsias envolvendo os riscos do uso de anticoncepcional hormonal no desenvolvimento do câncer de mama, não sendo unânime essa relação na literatura estudada.
Objetivo: Analisar a eficácia da radiofrequência como alternativa para o tratamento de disfunções sexuais. Revisão Bibliográfica: A disfunção sexual feminina (DSF) compromete a vida sexual e a qualidade de vida das pacientes, de modo a limitar e restringir suas atividades. Nesse contexto, o tratamento desta disfunção é muito amplo, com opções farmacológicas ou não e procedimentos invasivos ou não. A radiofrequência é um método não invasivo de emissão de ondas eletromagnéticas de alta frequência. Essa técnica estimula a neocolagênese e a neoelastogênese da mucosa vaginal, e, dessa forma, auxilia na cicatrização de feridas, promove maior elasticidade, integridade epitelial e umidade. A literatura também já descreve melhora da sensibilidade nervosa nesses procedimentos, o que, consequentemente, aprimora a função sexual e a qualidade de vida da paciente. Por fim, a radiofrequência é uma ótima alternativa para o tratamento e pode ser utilizado associado a outros, como a psicoterapia, a qual é essencial para disfunções de origem psicogênica. Considerações finais: A radiofrequência é uma alternativa propícia, segura e eficaz para tratar a DSF em todas as pacientes, principalmente nas pacientes que possuem contraindicações ao tratamento de terapia hormonal.
Introdução: Em 2010, registrou-se cerca de 1 bilhão de casos de doenças causadas por helmintos no mundo. Diante disso, a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) sugeriu a quimioprofilaxia periódica como tratamento preventivo de verminoses. A principal classe medicamentosa utilizada são os anti-helmínticos benzimidazólicos, que se mostraram eficazes no tratamento de verminoses, mas com potencial limitado em algunscasos. Logo, surgiu a hipótese de que uma exposição prolongada a tais drogas seria capaz de selecionar helmintos mais resistentes. Objetivos: 1) Compreender o mecanismo de ação dos benzimidazólicos; 2) Investigar a presença de resistência à medicação. Material e métodos: O presente estudo é uma revisão de literatura realizadamediante a busca pelos descritores “drugs resistance”, “helminths” e “benzimidazole”, na base de dados PubMed. Foram encontrados 439 artigos, dos quais 9, realizados entre os anos de 2010 a 2022, foram selecionados. Resultados: Estudos demonstram que benzimidazólicos agem na ligação à proteína β-tubulina, subunidade de microtúbulos, estruturas responsáveis pela homeostase celular. Dessa forma, estes sofrem encurtamento, resultando na morte celular do parasita. Todavia, após a descoberta de resistência à medicação em animais, questionou-se a presença de helmintos resistentes adrogas em humanos. Pesquisas feitas através de qPCR comprovaram a influência de fatores genéticos e ambientais na resistência parasitária. Com isso, foi identificado um polimorfismo de nucleotídeo único, nos códons 167, 198 e 200 do gene da β-tubulina, responsáveis por alterações celulares, impedindo a associação de benzimidazólicos ao sítio de ligação desta proteína. Ademais, o número de helmintos de vida livre, sensíveis à medicação, diminui a cada administração errônea de drogas, dosagens em curto período de tempo, e ao clima quente e seco, selecionando parasitas resistentes. Estudos brasileiros e australianos mostraram que A. lumbricoides, N. americanus e T. trichiura são os helmintos com maior prevalência de cepas resistentes. Entretanto, os benzimidazólicos conseguiram eliminar a maioria desses vermes. Conclusão: Comprovou se a existência de helmintos resistentes aos benzimidazólicos. Contudo, a prevalência dos mesmos ainda é baixa, sendo uma preocupação de saúde pública para os próximos anos, visto que o número de cepas resistentes aumenta com a administração errada de drogas e com mutações genéticas dos próprios parasitas.
