Abstract: The commemoration of the 1600th anniversary of the Milan agreements in 1913 caused a heated discussion between the supporters of laicism and the defenders of the Catholic confession of the Spanish State under the Bourbon Restoration, as enshrined in the 1876 Constitution. Constantine and His Personal Relation with Christianity:from Heathen Piety to Conversion ABSTRACT Constantine's adherence to Christianity was a long process conditioned by personal motivations, as well as cultural and political factors. He observed the heathen cults and he did not recognize himself as a christian until the year 314, in his letter to the bishops met in Arelate. Since 324, after the defeat of Licinius, he declared his faith in the One and Only True God in different official texts. He resolved to receive the baptism a few days before his death, in 337, perhaps in the hope of healing from his illness. His concept of Christianity was the one of an utilitarian religion, that offered him protection in war and guaranteed his authority in peace with the support of the Church.
Ad nostram scientiam referatur: The Imperial AdministrativeSupervision of the Execution of Laws during the Constantinian dinasty ABSTRACT Constantine and his heirs, Constantius II, Constans, and later Julian, expressed their particular interest in the supervision of the application of certain imperial laws using the formula ad nostram scientiam referatur or another similar ones. Constantine was the prince who more often employed it, especially during the period of 313-324, apart from the interval of 315-316, when the confrontation with Licinius compelled him to give up the attention to administrative questions. The progressive decrease of the insertion of that clauses in the legal imperial texts from the unification of the Empire in 324 AD must be put in relation to the appearance of curiosi and later, the agentes in rebus, as officers put in charge of the observance of the acts in force.
