ABSTRACT Irrigation management for growing lettuce in greenhouseThe determination of the water consumption is fundamental for the correct management of irrigated crops. The development of two lettuce cultivars (AF 1743 and OGR 326) was determined, when cultivated in a protected environment under two irrigation management methods: water consumption determined by the tensiometry (M1) and water consumption determined by evaporation of water in the reduced pan (M2), which were installed inside the protected environment. There was significant interaction among the imposed treatment and the cultivars of lettuce studied, for the fresh weight of the roots of the plants. The use of tensiometry promoted superior performance for the analyzed production variables as observed in the fresh weight of the aboveground part, with an overall average of 145.0 g, whereas for the management M2 the overall average was 59.4 g. For this variable, among the cultivars a superior result was obtained for the cultivar OGR 326 in comparison to AF1743.
Palavras-chave: Solanum lycopersicum L., estrobirulina, piraclostrobina, boscalida, trocas gasosas AbstractThis work had the purpose to study the physiological effects of pyraclostrobin, boscalid, plant growth regulators and plant extract on the accumulation of carbohydrates during the development of tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.), hybrid Giuliana, in protected environment conditions. The treatments were:+ benzylaminopurine 100 mg L -1 and T7-plant extract 100 mg L -1 . The carbohydrate accumulation curve was accomplished with 5 samples, at 20-day intervals between evaluations, the 1 st evaluation being carried out at 30 days after transplantation, on the day of the first treatment application. At each sampling the plants were separated in stem, leaves and fruits, of which the contents of total soluble sugars, reducing sugars and saccharose were evaluated. The effects of the treatments on chlorophyll content and gas exchanges were also evaluated. The experimental design was completely randomized, with 4 repetitions and 6 destructive evaluations during the development, with 1 plant per experimental unit for each sampling. The pyraclostrobin and boscalid applied in isolation and/or combined favor the increase of carbohydrates in leaves, stems and fruits of tomato hybrid Giuliana.
Several physiological and environmental factors can influence the development and growth of vines cultivated in irrigated areas of the Brazilian semi-arid region. Therefore, it is necessary to characterize the phenology of ‘Sweet Sunshine’ grapevine under Sub-medium São Francisco Valley, Brazil conditions in order to set up the managements employed for the crop. To characterize the phenology 12 plants were selected, distributed in four repetitions, from the first growing season, both in the 2nd half of 2012 as in the 1st half of 2013. The observations of plant development phases were initiated immediately after pruning, ending at the harvest. Gas exchange measures as net CO2 assimilation rate, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, intercellular CO2 concentrations, water use efficiency, apparent carboxylation efficiency (Rubisco) and the photosynthetic photon flux density were performed at inflorescence, early flowering, growth and softening of berries phases. The productive characterization was performed weekly, determining the clusters fresh weight length; fresh weight, diameter, length and volume of the berries; soluble solids content and titratable acidity; fresh and dry weight, basal, median and apical diameter of the stems. It was found that physiological parameters induced changes in the characteristics of the plants for the two evaluated periods, since the behavior of the curve for gas exchange measurements were distinct, exhibiting productive and commercial potential.
ResumoA cv. Palavras-chave: macromoléculas, número de folhas, Vitis vinifera L. Variation of carbohydrates in leaves of Italia grapevine under different levels of defoliation ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to evaluate the variation of carbohydrates, proteins and free amino acids in vine leaves in cv. Italy under different levels in different phases phenological defoliation. The experimental design was randomized blocks in factorial scheme 4 (5, 10, 15 and 20 sheets left in the industry) X 4 (phenological phases at 60, 72, 84 and 106 days after pruning) and three replications. We selected leaves were exposed to sunlight, fully extended, opposite the bunch, with no signs of senescence and healthy for the indirect measurement of chlorophyll (chlorophyll index) in SPAD readings using portable chlorophyll meter SPAD-502. The leaves were subjected to quantitative analysis of proteins, amino acids, starch, total sugars, reducing sugars and sucrose. The starch content was high in the initial softening of berries and sheets 15 left on the field of production and low at the start of the ripening of fruits. 15 The amount of leaves left on the branches of production in grapevine cv. Italy is recommended, therefore, these plants showed greater efficiency in both transmission and reserve accumulation and this accumulation was influenced by the phenological stage of grapevine.
