ist bekannt, daB Mercaptane mit Aldehyden und Ketonen sehr bestandige Kondensationsprodukte liefern, die durch AIkalien gar nicht oder nur sehr trage angegriffen werden. Bei den Versuchen, auch Diketone mit Mercaptanen zu kondensieren, hat es sich jedoch herausgesteHt, daB eine Kondensation entweder iiberhaupt nicht moglich war, d e r d& Verbindungen erhalten wurden, die unbestiindig waren und wieder in &re Komponenten gespalten werden konntenl). Oxy-ketone, wie z. €3. Benzoin, setzten sich mit Mercaptanen zu Stilben-Abko&gen urn2).Wir haben nun die Untersuchung der Einwirkung von Thio-glykols a u r e auf Oxy-ketone und Diketone, und zwar zunachst auf Benzoin und Benzil, in Angriff genommen und dabei feststellen konnen, d& die entstandenen Kondensationsprodukte bei der Einwirkung von Alkalien nicht, wie man auf Grund der bisherigen Literatur-Angaben annehmen sollte, wieder in ihre Komponenten gespalten werden, sondern d& die Hydrolyse einen anderen, unerwarteten Verlauf nimmt.Bei der Umsetzung von Thio-glykolsaure mit Benzoin entsteht ebenfalls ein Stilben-Derivat, aber die Reaktion verlauft, wie wir gefunden haben, in zwei Phasen, und unter geeigneten Versuchs-Bedingungen g e h g t es, die Reaktion auf der ersten Stufe festzuhalten und das Produkt in guter Ausbeute zu isolieren. Venvendet man namlich trocknen Chlorwasserstoff als Kondensationsmittel, so erhalt man die Desyl-thioglykolsaure (I) und zwar auf folgende Weise: P--Da13 die Thio-glykolsaure sich mit Alkoholen sehr glatt umzusetzen vermag, haben wir durch zahlreiche Versuche mit Alkoholen verschiedenster Natur festgestellt. Da inzwischen jedoch von Holmbergs) ahnliche Versuche veroffentlicht worden sind, die, wenn auch unter anderen Reaktions-Bedingungen, zu den gleichen Endprodukten gefiihrt haben, verzichten wir auf die Wied-ergabe unserer Ergebnisse. Die freie Ketogruppe der Desyl-thioglykolsaure wurde durch die Bildung des Oxims und des Semicarbazons nachgewiesen. Schliefllich haben wir die Desyl-thioglykolsaure noch auf einem anderen Wege dargestellt, und zwar aus Thioglykolsaure und Desylchlorid.I,aflt man Thio-glykolsaure in Gegenwart von geschmolzenemChlorzink auf die Desyl-thioglykolsaure einwirken, so wird Stilben-bisthioglykolsaure (11) gebildet.
