In uiiserer friiheren Mitteilung haben wir iiber Verbindungen des Selens \-on der allgenieinen Zusamniensetzung Ar . SeHal und Ar . SeHal, berichtet 2).Die Darstellung von Aryl-selenhalogeniden durch Einwirkung von Halogen auf die entsprechenden Aryl-selencyanide hat sich bei zahlreichen Versuchen durchaus bewahrt, und es handelt sich, wie die Untersuchungen, die zunachst in der Benzol-Reihe angestellt worden sind, ergeben, um eine allgemein anwendbare Reaktion.Die Unisetzungen verlaufen folgendermaWen :Hal. CN, bei der Anwendung eines Uberschusses oder inindestens der fur Trihalogenide berechneten Menge Halogen gilt folgendes Schema: Ar . SeCN + z Hal, + Ar . SeHal, + Hal. CN. Ebenso wie Tribt omide mehr oder weniger leicht unter Abgabe von Brom in die Monobromide uberzugehen vermogen, nehmen diese unter Ruckbildung der Tr i bromide wieder Broni auf : Ar . SeHal, + Ar . SeHal + Hal,. izus dem o-Nitrophenyl-selencyanid konnte kein Tribromid erhalten werden, auch bei Anwendung eines Uberschusses von Brom entstand nur das Monobromid, das auffallend bestandig ist.Uber die Einwirkung von Broni auf D i p h e n y l d i s e l e n i d liegen Angaben von S t r e c k e r und Willing3) vor, nach denen sich dabei D i p h en yldi seleni d -t e t r a b r onii d bildet. Wie wir bei mehrfachem Nacharbeiten ihrer Vorschrift festgestellt haben, entsteht dabei jedoch nicht ein Tetrabromid, sondern Phenyl-selentribromid, das durch Sodalosung in p h e n y l -s e l e n i n s a u r e s N a t r i u n i iibergefuhrt wird. 1)ie bei der Einwirkung von S o d a l o s~~~g von S t r e c ke r und W i lli n g beobachtete Bildung \-on Diphenyldiselenid ist nicht auf einen direkten cbergang aus dem Tribromid zuruckzufiihren, sondern auf seine teilweise Zprsetzung in Monobromid, das dann in Diselenid und in die zugehorige Seleninsaure verwandelt wird. Hr. S t r e c k e r hatte die groBe Liebenswiirdigkeit, uns eine noch in seinem Besitz befindliche Probe des als Tetr abroniid bezeichneten Praparates zum Vergleich zur Verfiigung zu stellen. Bei der Untersuchung ergab sich, clalj kein einheitliches Produkt, sondern drei verschiedene Verbindungen \-orlagen, namlich Phenyl-selenmonobromid, Phenyl-seleninsaure und Diphenyldiselenid, deren Vorhandensein nun tatsachlich fur die Richtigkeit unserer Auffassung der Entstehung des Tribromides und nicht eines Tetrabromides spri cht 4 ) .

Um eine groI3ere Menge davon zu erhalten, wurden IOO g Methyl-cyclopentan mit 45 g Aluminiumchlorid und 45 g Tetrachlorkohlenstoff 10 Tage verriihrt. Aus der oberen Schicht wurde die Fraktion 213 -215~ herausdestilliert und rnit Kohlendioxyd-Schnee zum Krystallisieren gebracht. Universitiit Giel3en.j (Eingegangen am 30. Marz 1932.) Im Verlauf von Untersuchungen iib-er organische Selenverbindungen sind wir auf Verbindungen des Selens von der allgemeinen Zusammensetzung R . Se . Hal und R . SeHal, gestol3en. Wahrend die Verbindungen des letzterenTypus in der Schwefel-Reihe noch nicht bekannt geworden sind, sind die Verbindungen des ersteren den von Zinc kel) entdeckten Aryl-schwefelchloriden analog gebaut, in ihren Eigenschaften aber in mancher Beziehung wesentlich verschieden.Die Aryl-schwefel-chloride sind durch Einwirkung von Chlor auf Diaryldisulfide oder auf Arylmercaptane gewonnen worden. Jedoch konnen nur aus solchen 1)isulfiden die entsprechenden Aryl-schwefel-chloride erhalten werden, bei denen die Binwirkung des Chlors auf die S-S-Bindung der Substitution des Kerns iiberlegen ist. Um nun auch solche Verbindungen, die nicht nur relativ schwer halogenierbare aromatische Reste enthalten, in Aryl-schwefel-chloride uberfiihren zu konnen, ging Lechers) von Arylthio-rhodaniden aus ; ex verwendete damit Produkte, deren negativer Rest so reaktionsfiihig ist, daI3 ex sich erheblich schneller mit dem einwirkenden Halogen umsetzt als dieses den Kern zu substituieren vermag.Der Cedanke lag nahe, bei der H e r s t e l l u n g d e r Aryl-selen-halog en i d e einen ahnlichen Weg einzuschlagen und die entsprechenden D i a r y 1di seleiiide oder S e l e n o -p h e n o l e 'als Ausgangsprodukte zu verwenden. Die Diaryldiselenide konnen aus den betreffenden Aryl-selen-cyaniden durch Einwirkung von waI3rig-alkoholischem Alkali, Ammoniak oder Katriumcarbonat erhalten werden. Die Umsetzung beruht hierbei nicht, wie Challenger3) angibt, auf einem'ubergang des Selencyanids in Seleno-phenol und Cyansaure und nachtragliche Oxydation des gebildeten Seleno-phenols :2CaH5.Se.CN + 2 H,O + zC6H5.SeH + 2 HCNO, z C,H5. SeH + 0 --C,H5 . Se . Se. C,H5 + H,O.
ist bekannt, daB Mercaptane mit Aldehyden und Ketonen sehr bestandige Kondensationsprodukte liefern, die durch AIkalien gar nicht oder nur sehr trage angegriffen werden. Bei den Versuchen, auch Diketone mit Mercaptanen zu kondensieren, hat es sich jedoch herausgesteHt, daB eine Kondensation entweder iiberhaupt nicht moglich war, d e r d& Verbindungen erhalten wurden, die unbestiindig waren und wieder in &re Komponenten gespalten werden konntenl). Oxy-ketone, wie z. €3. Benzoin, setzten sich mit Mercaptanen zu Stilben-Abko&gen urn2).Wir haben nun die Untersuchung der Einwirkung von Thio-glykols a u r e auf Oxy-ketone und Diketone, und zwar zunachst auf Benzoin und Benzil, in Angriff genommen und dabei feststellen konnen, d& die entstandenen Kondensationsprodukte bei der Einwirkung von Alkalien nicht, wie man auf Grund der bisherigen Literatur-Angaben annehmen sollte, wieder in ihre Komponenten gespalten werden, sondern d& die Hydrolyse einen anderen, unerwarteten Verlauf nimmt.Bei der Umsetzung von Thio-glykolsaure mit Benzoin entsteht ebenfalls ein Stilben-Derivat, aber die Reaktion verlauft, wie wir gefunden haben, in zwei Phasen, und unter geeigneten Versuchs-Bedingungen g e h g t es, die Reaktion auf der ersten Stufe festzuhalten und das Produkt in guter Ausbeute zu isolieren. Venvendet man namlich trocknen Chlorwasserstoff als Kondensationsmittel, so erhalt man die Desyl-thioglykolsaure (I) und zwar auf folgende Weise: P--Da13 die Thio-glykolsaure sich mit Alkoholen sehr glatt umzusetzen vermag, haben wir durch zahlreiche Versuche mit Alkoholen verschiedenster Natur festgestellt. Da inzwischen jedoch von Holmbergs) ahnliche Versuche veroffentlicht worden sind, die, wenn auch unter anderen Reaktions-Bedingungen, zu den gleichen Endprodukten gefiihrt haben, verzichten wir auf die Wied-ergabe unserer Ergebnisse. Die freie Ketogruppe der Desyl-thioglykolsaure wurde durch die Bildung des Oxims und des Semicarbazons nachgewiesen. Schliefllich haben wir die Desyl-thioglykolsaure noch auf einem anderen Wege dargestellt, und zwar aus Thioglykolsaure und Desylchlorid.I,aflt man Thio-glykolsaure in Gegenwart von geschmolzenemChlorzink auf die Desyl-thioglykolsaure einwirken, so wird Stilben-bisthioglykolsaure (11) gebildet. Der Reaktions-Mechanismus ist wohl so zu deuten, daB sich zunachst an die Desyl-tgoglykolsaure (I) 1 Mol. Thio-1) s.
Uber das Verhalten organischer Selenid-dihalogenide beim Erhitzen iiber ihren Schmelzpunkt hinaus ist lediglich bekannt, daB Diphenyl-seleniddibromid eine Kernbromierung erleidet und Athyl-phenyl-selenid-dibromid in Phenyl-selen-bromid und khylbromid gespalten wird. Da hier zwei voneinander vollig verschiedene Reaktionen ablaufen, schien es von Interesse, das Verhalten anderer, vor allen Dingen gemischter Selenid-dihalogenide bei hoherer Temperatur zu untersuchen.Wie B e h a g h e l und S e i b e r t l ) gezeigt haben, konnen organische Selenide aus Aryl-selen-monohalogeniden durch Umsetzung mit Alkyl-oder Arylmagnesiumhalogeniden hergestellt werden :
