Stroke is one of the serious health problems in modern life today. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) explained that stroke is the leading cause of death globally. An estimated 17.7 million people die of strokes in 2015 representing 31% of all global deaths. This study aims to determine the effect of Passive Range of Motion (ROM) Exercise on Increasing Muscle Strength in Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke Patients in the Inpatient Room at Rsud Kota Tangerang. Quasi-experimental research design with a sample of 14 people. Univariate and bivariate data analysis using the Wilcoxon test. Samples are measured using Observation Sheets before and after Range Of Motion (ROM) Exercises. This Range Of Motion exercise is carried out for 1 week in 7 days, done 2 times in the morning and afternoon for 15 minutes. Based on the Paired Test, it was found that there was an effect of Passive Range Of Motion (ROM) Exercise on increasing muscle strength in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients with p-value = 0,01 <α 0,05. This proves that passive ROM has an effect on increasing the muscle strength of the respondent. Hospitals should set standard operating procedures for special handling using Passive ROM so that the results obtained can be maximal and uniform for all the problems of the word muscle strength. Keywords: Non-hemorrhagic; stroke; Passive ROM; Muscle Strength
Biscuits with eel flour substitution contained high energy and protein. Food spoilage during storage is caused by water absorption from food storage. This study examines the effect of storage on the water content of biscuits and organoleptic quality. This research was a quasi-experiment conducted by laboratory analysis of the moisture content of biscuits with the addition of eel flour (Monoptherus albus zuieuw). The experiment was conducted at Jayapura Health Polytechnic Laboratory, consisting of 3 formulas (10, 20 and 30 grams) of eel flour substitution. They were packaged using PP plastic and glass jars. The observations were conducted for seven days at temperatures of -18°C and 45°C. Organoleptic test using 17 somewhat trained panellists. Analysis using Independent T-Test. The results showed that biscuits stored at -18°C experienced an increase in water content on the seventh day. Biscuits stored in plastic packaging have a higher water content than glass jars. There was no significant difference in the water content of biscuits stored in jars and plastics (p=0,631). Organoleptic analysis showed that on the sixth day, there was a change in the preference for taste and texture stored in plastic at temperatures of 45°C. In conclusion, there was no significant difference in the moisture content of the biscuits stored in glass or plastic jars. However, there was a decrease in preference on the sixth day of plastic packaging.
Stroke is a neurological disease that can cause loss of motor function in sufferers. A stroke causes the patient's motor skills to experience weakness, or hemiparesis. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation in stroke cases. This research was a literature review. This article was obtained from two journal data bases, namely Sciencedirect and Google Scholar. The limitation of article search was published on January 2010-December 2020 with full text in Indonesian and English. The instrument used in this study was Crow Critical Apraissal Tolls (CCAT). There were 4,294 articles was conducted, then selected based on inclusion criteria and a critical appraisal and there were 6 articles matched with the criteria. These six articles used a pretest-posttest with control group design. From six articles were mentioned that Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) exercises affect toward muscle strength, improve coordination, improve functional abilities and reduce mobility disorders in stroke patients. The conclusion is Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation is effective as an effort to treat stroke patients.
Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a clinical syndrome with symptoms of hyperglycemia, urinary glucose excretion and disorder of insulin mechanism. Approximately 90-95% of diabetic patients suffer from type 2 DM. Various studies show that compliance to treatment of chronic disease in general is low. Compliance to eating or food frequency amongst DM patients in hospital in particular is very low. The success of self management of blood glucose (SMBG) needs participation of the patient, families, and educator team. Objective: To study the factors affecting eating compliance particularly eating schedule among type 2 diabetic out-patient who had nutrition counseling in RSUD Kota Yogyakarta.Method: It was an observasional study with cross sectional design and purposive sampling. Data collection was done in October 2008 with 98 subjects. The sampel were type 2 diabetic out-patients according to inclusion criteria at out- patient clinic in RSUD Kota Yogyakarta. Statistical test with 95% confidence interval was applied to investigate factors infuenced eating compliance. Results: There were no correlations between eating compliance and disease duration (RP= 1,253 and p =0,403), and also with type of occupation (RP= 1,047 dan p= 1,000). However, it was found that family support affected eating compliance (RP= 1,723 dan p= 0,025) as well as eating schedule before nutrition counseling (RP = 2,151 and p= 0,02).Conclusion: Duration of disease and type of occupation did not affect eating compliance. Nevertheless, family support and eating schedule before nutrition education affected eating compliance among type 2 DM out-patients in RSUD Kota Yogyakarta.
