This paper aimed to identify factors associated with adherence to the Academia da Cidade Program (ACP) in Recife. It is a cross-sectional study developed in 20 ACP centers, involving 289 users (93.7% female, 67.1% aged 30-59 years) and 244 former users (91.4% female, 63.5% aged 30-59 years) of the program. We used a self-administered questionnaire for data collection. The dependent variable was adherence to the ACP (starting and staying in it for at least three months), and the independent variables were sociodemographic aspects, participation in the ACP, and variables related to the reasons that led participants to start attending the ACP. For data analysis, we used descriptive statistics and binary logistic regression, in which Odds Ratio (OR) was the measure of association. The results of the multivariable analysis revealed that participants aged 30 or older (OR = 7.18; 95%CI: 2.57-20.03), unemployed (OR = 1.62; 95%CI: 1.01-2.59), who had been attending the ACP for 25 months or longer (OR = 7.41; 95%CI: 3.80-14.46), whose weekly participation frequency was higher than three days (OR = 7.09; 95%CI: 1.81-27.80), and who had started attending the ACP to improve their physical performance (OR = 1.87; 95%CI: 1.17-3.00) and due to the team's and teacher's confidence and commitment (OR = 2.78; 95%CI: 1.37-5.64) were more likely to adhere to the ACP. Therefore, the factors associated with adherence to the ACP were related to sociodemographic characteristics, users' participation in the ACP and reasons that led users to start attending the program.

The aim of this study was to describe methodological aspects of the Project SUS+Ativo -Evaluation of programs and interventions for physical activity promotion within the primary healthcare network in the state of Pernambuco. A methodological study, with descriptive analysis. The programs and interventions for physical activity promotion developed within the Primary Health Care system of the 184 municipalities in the state of Pernambuco, as well as the island of Fernando de Noronha, constituted this field of study. Data were collected from managers, professionals and users involved in these programs and interventions. For the subgroup of managers and professionals, a census was conducted, while for participants the sample was dimensioned by the size of the municipalities and number of programs and interventions on physical activity that were active at the time. The instruments presented the following dimensions: individual characteristics of respondent (socio economic profile and education); characteristics and management of the program/intervention being evaluated; technical competency of professionals; perception of the quality of the programs and/or interventions. An observation script was used, filled by the researchers, for assessment of the environment and ongoing activities. Results were presented according to the phases: 1 st ) construction of matrixes, 2 nd ) face and content validity; 3 rd ) clarity and applicability of the instruments and 4 th ) analysis of reproducibility for the instrument. Methodological resources used in this study may support the development of new research of evaluation of process, structure and results, as well as the planning of programs and interventions for physical activity promotion in the field of public health. This cross-sectional, descriptive, quantitative study aimed to analyze the performance of physical education professionals from the Academia da Cidade Program (ACP) in Primary Health Care (PHC) in Recife, Brazil. The study included 104 professionals who worked in ACP centers in the city of Recife. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire. We also assessed variables related to participants' sociodemographic and professional profile, their performance in the ACP, out-of-center activities, and cooperation with PHC. Data were stored and organized using the EpiData software version 3.1 and then analyzed using SPSS version 10.0. Most professionals were female (61.5%), aged 30 to 39 years old (76.9%) and had not served any public health internships during their initial training (71.2%). As for their performance in PHC, most professionals carried out out-of-center activities in the community (77.3%), but these activities were not implemented in conjunction with the Family Health Units (68.3%) nor with the Family Health Support Centers (75.7%). Of those who implemented joint activities, 81.8% of participants built dialogue with community health agents. Furthermore, 57.7% stated that users' referral to Family Health Units occurred in an informal manner. We conclude that the performance of physical education professionals of the ACP in PHC in Recife has been made effective through the implementation of outof-center activities; however, these activities are not integrated with existing PHC strategies. ResumoO objetivo deste manuscrito é descrever o processo de implantação do monitoramento do Programa Academia das Cidades e da Saúde no Estado de Pernambuco e os principais resultados alcançados com esse processo. Trata-se de um relato de experiência sobre a implantação do monitoramento do Programa Academia das Cidades e da Saúde, no período de outubro de 2012 a dezembro de 2013. Os resultados alcançados foram à construção intersetorial do monitoramento mensal dos polos nos municípios, com definição de instrumento para coletar os dados e estabelecimento de rotina e fluxo do processo de trabalho, a produção de um documento oficial para compartilhar as experiências entre os municí-pios do Estado e fortalecimento e aproximação das relações entre os entes federativos. A implantação do monitoramento dos Programas favoreceu a intersetorialidade, fortalece o vínculo com os municípios e a corresponsabilidade e cogestão entre as secretarias envolvidas e os municípios. Estudos avaliativos demonstram a efetividade de intervenções comunitárias de atividade física, sendo escassos os que analisem a sua qualidade. Objetivou-se identificar e analisar a qualidade de artigos originais sobre intervenções comunitárias de promoção de atividade física publicados de 2007 a 2019 nas bases de dados: Medline, SciELO e LILACS. Aplicaram-se os parâmetros propostos pela Joint Committee on Standards for Educational Evaluation – JCSEE, e critérios de especificidade referentes à avaliação de ações de promoção de saúde comunitária. Os estudos incluídos (doze) foram descritos segundo características das intervenções avaliadas, abordagens avaliativas empregadas, e principais resultados. A utilização de abordagens avaliativas para ações multiestratégicas e complexas, a exemplo das intervenções comunitárias de atividade física, ainda é restrita.

This cross-sectional, descriptive, quantitative, and qualitative study aimed to investigate the contributions and challenges of physical education professionals working at the Center for Psychosocial Support (CPSS) in Recife, Brazil. The study population was composed of CPSS professionals and professionals from the Academia da Cidade Program (ACP) who worked at the CPSS. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire, which was administered to professionals from all 17 CPSS and from ACP centers in Recife during previously scheduled visits to these sites. The following variables were assessed: sociodemographic data, initial and ongoing training, and aspects regarding the level of integration between these two health care services. Data were stored and organized using the EpiData software, version 3.1, and then analyzed using SPSS, version 10.0. Results are presented in absolute and relative frequencies. We used content analysis to analyze the qualitative data. The study included 115 CPSS professionals and 24 ACP professionals. More than half of both respondent groups rated ACP participation in the CPSS as very important for users; however, the level of integration between these two services was rated as moderate or poor, and these results were reinforced in the analysis of the qualitative questions. We conclude that the participation of physical education professionals in the CPSS brings contributions related to users' benefits and teamwork at both services, but structural and work process issues were challenges that need to be overcome in order to allow a more qualified and integrated performance from these professionals.
