Cet article s’intéresse à la fiction à substrat professionnel (FASP) médicale télévisuelle en se demandant si celle-ci est un élément à part entière de la culture scientifique et technique (CST) au même titre qu’une animation dans un musée par exemple, et s’interroge sur la place qu’elle peut occuper au sein de celle-ci. L’analyse s’appuie sur les rôles discursifs, les moyens discursifs mis en œuvre dans la transmission des éléments scientifiques par le spécialiste au profane, l’exploitation des stratégies narratives et la sémiotique visuelle. La scénographie sous ces multiples aspects est donc interrogée. Le corpus à la base de ce travail se compose de séries télévisées américaines, françaises et allemandes, le présent article s’attache à analyser les séries américaines.
