Objetivou-se com o presente estudo avaliar a suplementação de vitamina C na dieta para o desenvolvimento e sobrevivência de larvas de jundiá Rhamdia voulezi. Foram distribuídas, em um delineamento inteiramente casualizado, 375 larvas, em 25 aquários de 30 L de volume útil, na densidade de 0,5 larva/litro. As rações foram formuladas de forma a se apresentarem isoproteicas, isoenergéticas, isoaminoacídicas e isofibrosas, sendo suplementadas com 600 (controle); 850; 1.100; 1.600 e 2.600 mg de vitamina C por kg de ração. As larvas foram alimentadas até a saciedade aparente por um período de 31 dias, quatro vezes ao dia (8h, 11h, 14h e 17h). Mensurou-se a temperatura da água diariamente, enquanto os parâmetros físico-químicos (oxigênio dissolvido, pH e condutividade) foram mensurados semanalmente. Não observaram-se diferenças significativas no desempenho das larvas em relação ao peso médio final, comprimento médio final, fator de condição, taxa de crescimento específico e sobrevivência. Conclui-se que o desempenho e a sobrevivência de larvas de jundiá Rhamdia voulezi não são influenciados pela suplementação em níveis superiores a 600 mg de vitamina C por kilograma de dieta.
O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o desempenho zootécnico e composição centesimal de juvenis de jundiás Rhamdia voulezi alimentados com dietas farelada, peletizada e extrusada, cultivados em tanques-rede. Foram utilizados 150 peixes distribuídos em 15 tanques-rede (0,20m³), dispostos em tanques-rede de 5m³, no reservatório da usina hidrelétrica Governador José Richa, no rio Iguaçu (Paraná-Brasil). Os peixes foram alimentados cinco vezes por dia, com dietas fareladas, peletizadas e extrusadas, contendo 30% de proteína bruta e 3250 Kcal/kg de energia digestível/kg. Ao final de 60 dias, observaram-se diferenças significativas (p<0,05) no desempenho dos peixes. Os animais alimentados com a dieta peletizada, apresentaram maiores médias de peso final (44,08g), comprimento final (16,51cm) e ganho de peso (36,65g). Os diferentes processamentos não influenciaram na sobrevivência dos peixes. Em relação à composição centesimal da carcaça, as médias de proteína bruta e matéria mineral não diferiram estatisticamente (p>0,05), enquanto os valores de umidade e lipídeos apresentaram diferenças entre os tratamentos. A maior média de lipídeos (8,59%) foi observada nos peixes alimentados com a dieta peletizada. A dieta farelada proporcionou peixes com menor teor de lipídeos (5,45%) e maior umidade (75,98%). A dieta peletizada é mais indicada para juvenis de jundiá R. voulezi no cultivo em tanques-rede.
Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar os parâmetros centesimais e microbiológicos de nuggets de mandi-pintado. Com os resultados da biometria dos peixes pode-se observar que a espécie trabalhada apresenta alto rendimento de tronco limpo e baixo teor de gordura visceral. Após a realização das proporções corporais, os filés foram moídos e empanados, e as amostras (in natura e de nuggets) foram separadas para a realização da composição centesimal e microbiológica. Os empanados apresentaram 14,67% de proteína, 10,12% de lipídios, 16,43% de carboidratos, 2,70% de matéria mineral e 56,08% de umidade, ou seja, dentro dos padrões exigidos pela legislação brasileira. Os resultados microbiológicos indicaram que tanto a matéria prima quanto os nuggets desenvolvidos estavam aptos para o processamento e/ou consumo. Portanto, o mandi-pintado apresenta alto rendimento de tronco limpo e baixo teor de gordura visceral, além de ser uma matéria prima ideal para o desenvolvimento de nuggets, sendo este um alimento altamente nutritivo, de fácil preparo e com grande valor agregado.
