Despite being a popular research subject internationally, self-regulated learning is relatively under-investigated in the Indonesian context. This article examined student learning motivation and its use as an indicator to predict student learning strategies in an Indonesian school context. This article applied quantitative research design, with Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) used to collect the data. This questionnaire was completed by 408 public high secondary students randomly selected from the population in Lampung Province schools, and multiple regression was used to analyze the obtained data. Results show that student motivation and learning strategies were positively and significantly correlated; three predictor variables of student motivation could significantly predict learning strategies; and value components of student motivation best predicted learning strategies. In conclusion, these findings indicate that, when teachers apply learning strategies, such variables as motivation including value, expectancy, and affective components should be strongly considered to be in place. It is hoped finally that the students will be self-regulated learners for their success.

The problem of this study was the lack of problem-solving skills in early childhood, mostly in developing countries including Indonesia. This study examines the effect of the scientific approach-based learning process on problemsolving skills of early childhood and analyse the effectiveness of scientific approach-based learning to improve problem solving skills in early childhood. This study was conducted at Al-Kautsar Kindergarten in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. The research method was a quasi-experiment. This research used one grup pre-test and post-test design. The data was collected using observation, documentation guidilines, and performance assesment. The instrument used in this research was the observation sheet in the form of an assessment rubric type rating scale. The data analysis was done by using descriptive analysis and simple linear regression. The results show that there were a significant difference in scores between before and after the treatment using the scientific approach-based learning process and a significant effect of this approach on problem solving skills of early childhood.
The problem in this study is that there is an indication of students' bullying behavior at school and students' learning independence is low. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between parents' overprotective parenting with bullying behavior and learning independence of fifth grade students. The population is 113 students. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling technique, the sample is 56 students. Data analysis using product moment correlation. The results of the study concluded that 1) there is a relationship between parents’ overprotective parenting with bullying behavior of students with a very high category, 2) there is a relationship between overprotective parenting of parents and learning independence of students with a very high category, 3) there is a relationship between bullying behavior and the learning independence with a very high category.
The research and development aims to produce a discovery learning model that is oriented towards the student ability of reflective thinking and self-efficacy. The research was conducted using the Research & Development (R & D) method. The research and development model used refers to the procedure of R & D development by Gall and Borg by Sukmadinata that is ADDIE. The steps for implementing the research and development strategy include; (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, (5) evaluation. The Data collecting methods and instruments are used tests and non-tests. The Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The Data analysis techniques used in research and development are quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The results showed that the discovery learning model that was oriented towards the student ability of reflective thinking and self-efficacy was effective to improve the student ability of reflective thinking and self-efficacy respectively by 77% and 30%.Keywords: Discovery Learning, Relative thinking, dan Self-Efficacy
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
