Résumé -Introduction :La dysplasie osseuse floride (DOF), anciennement dénommée dysplasie cémento-osseuse floride, est une pathologie fréquente encore trop méconnue par certains praticiens. Objectif : Le but de notre travail est, à partir d'un cas clinique illustré, de réaliser une revue de la littérature sur la prise en charge des patients atteints de DOF. Observation : Une femme âgée de 38 ans est adressée par son orthodontiste pour découverte fortuite radiographique de multiples lésions osseuses mandibulaires d'allure mixte, au niveau des apex molaires. Le diagnostic de DOF est posé. Discussion : De nombreux cas d'échecs de traitements endodontiques, de kystes étiquetés d'origine endodontique ont été rapportés, se révélant être des DOF. Ces prises en charge inadaptées ont souvent mené à un passage d'une forme asymptomatique de DOF à une forme symptomatique. Il est donc important de ne pas méconnaître une telle pathologie et de bien poser l'indication d'un traitement endodontique. Il est maintenant admis qu'aucun traitement local ne doit être envisagé en dehors des phases de surinfection et que les avulsions dentaires sont à proscrire dans les zones touchées. Aucune recommandation n'existe concernant la faisabilité des traitements orthodontiques. Conclusion : Une parfaite hygiène buccodentaire et un suivi régulier sont indispensables dans la prise en charge de ces patients.Abstract -Florid osseous dysplasia of the mandible: a case of fortuitous discovery and review.
La réhabilitation de l'os maxillaire atrophié est un challenge pour le chirurgien maxillo facial et le chirurgien oral. Chez la plupart des patient édentés totaux avec une atrophie maxillaire, le traitement conventionnel ne peut être réalisé du fait du déficit d'os alvéolaire aggravé par la pneumatisation du sinus maxillaire. Conventionnelement, le déficit osseux est traité par des greffes d'apposition cortico-médullaire d'origine iliaque ou pariétale. Cette procédure reconstructrice est complexe car elle nécessite plusieurs temps opératoires.
