The main purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between three dimensions of perceived social support from supervisor (PSSS) (emotional, informational, and material) Performance is key to organizational survival and effectiveness (Swanson, 1994). Research on performance, especially at the individual level, has received considerable and sustained attention in many fields of study, including organizational psychology and human resource development (HRD). The findings from research studies in these fields found many possible factors that affect performance. Supervisor has been suggested as one of them."Support from supervisor" can generally be defined as the positive work interaction between a supervisor and a subordinate. A supportive supervisor can provide what subordinates need in order to motivate them to work better.
Social support is one of the important characteristics needed for supervisors in Thailand. This article has two purposes. The first is to explore the definition of supervisory social support and important research findings in Thailand, and second, to provide recommendations for human resource development (HRD) study and practice in Thailand.
During the period of old age, everyone wishes to have good quality of living. However, only the ones who have been well-prepared at the younger age could make this wish comes true. This study aims at investigating the psychosocial antecedents of the preparation of quality aging based on ambidextrous approach. Samples were 489 undergraduate students. Path analysis with latent model revealed a good fit. The findings revealed that psychological latent trait (future orientation and self-control, need for achievement, mental health, and core self-evaluation) and situational latent variable (perceived modeling, social support, and social norm) directly affected the preparation for quality aging (present quality of life, knowledge acquisition, and knowledge usage) via the psychological latent state R2 of 0.606 latent (attitude towards preparation, and locus of control of preparation) with the. Discussion and implications are offered.
