Purpose – Most small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) use some business management software to manage their daily operations. Ultimately they consider transitioning to an enterprise resources planning (ERP) system. However, implementing ERP system successfully is costly and complex, and often shows high disappointment rates or even abandonment due to need of fit with the business or social culture. In Jordan, large businesses have been using the ERP system for a long time, but SMEs usage of the system is relatively new. The purpose of this paper is to study the effect of ERP implementation success antecedents which consists of training, supportive leadership and ease of use on ERP implementation success itself through a mediating effect of user satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach – Empirical data were collected using a survey questionnaire which was distributed to ERP users in Jordanian healthcare organizations. A total of 175 responses were collected and analyzed using structure equation modeling. Findings – A significant relationship was found between these antecedents and ERP implementation success. Furthermore, user satisfaction plays a significant mediating role between ease of use and ERP implementation success. Practical implications – The outcomes of this study are useful to ERP users as they would be able to strategize future ERP system implementation in different sectors such as education, manufacturing and insurance industry. Finally, the findings may be useful to ERP system adopters in different developing countries. Originality/value – This is one of the first studies which adequately covers the relationships between antecedents of user satisfaction and ERP implementation success which consists of training, supportive leadership and ease of use on ERP implementation success itself through a mediating effect of user satisfaction.
This study investigates the status of digital divide amongst Jordanian Telecentres. The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of the perceived usefulness, the perceived ease-of-use and the facilitating conditions on the behavioral intention of employees. In addition, the study investigates the effect of the three mentioned factors on the user acceptance while the behavioral intention on the user acceptance is used as a mediating factor. The proposed research model was validated by distributing 150 survey questionnaires to the Telecentres in Jordan. Structural equation modeling (SEM) technique was used to analyze the results. One of the main limitations of this study is that the results cannot be universal since the study was limited to Jordan. Similar study needs to be conducted in different courtiers to either support or negate our results.
The present study aimed to develop a theoretical framework toward e-learning adoption in universities through conducting a comprehensive review of literature, and empirical studies. Based on the technology acceptance model, the researchers developed a model designed to measure the impact of ease of use, perceived usefulness, and training on e-learning usage on the actual use of e-learning systems via the initial trend towards the use of e-learning systems and the intention towards the use of e-learning systems as mediating factors. The researchers also developed a survey questionnaire that will be distributed to a selected sample study on the students at the Jordanian public and private universities in order to answer the research questions and test its hypotheses by applying structural equation modeling.
Aim/Purpose: This research aims to examine the role of Knowledge Management (KM) infrastructure (technological, structural, and cultural) in enhancing job satisfaction in the context of developing countries, as exemplified by Jordan. Background: Despite the presence of job satisfaction studies conducted in educational institutions across the world, knowledge management issues have not been taken into consideration as influencing factors. Methodology: A total of 168 responses to a questionnaire survey were collected from the academic staff at Zarqa University in Jordan. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to test the research hypotheses. Contribution: This study offers deeper understanding about the role that knowledge management infrastructure plays in enhancing job satisfaction from a developing country perspective. The proposed model is tested the first time in Jordan. Findings: Results of the current study revealed that there are significant positive impacts of technological and cultural KM infrastructures on job satisfaction, whereas structural KM infrastructure does not have a significant impact on job satisfaction. Also, the results revealed significant gender difference in perception of the impact of knowledge management infrastructure on job satisfaction. On the other hand, an ANOVA test found no significant difference in the impact of knowledge management infrastructure on job satisfaction among groups by age, experience, and academic rank. Recommendation for Researchers: Our findings can be used as a base of knowledge for further studies about knowledge management infrastructure and job satisfaction following different criteria and research procedures. Future Research: The current model can be applied and assessed further in other sectors, including public universities and other services sectors in developed and developing countries.
Sustainable learning and education (SLE) is a relatively new ideology based on sustainability principles and developed in response to the United Nations’ recently proclaimed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a result, technologies should be adopted to equip educational institutions with the tools necessary to attain SLE. Recently, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has affected educational systems globally, leading them to embrace more innovative technological methods to meet academic demands while maintaining SLE principles. Mobile learning apps (MLA) refers to using the unique capabilities of mobile apps to engage and collaborate towards establishing robust online learning. However, the effectiveness of MLA depends on learners’ acceptance. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that could affect MLA acceptance. In order to analyze the collected data from 415 Jordanian students among schools and universities, structural equation modeling (SEM) was used. The empirical findings confirm that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are significantly influenced by self-efficacy and perceived compatibility. Furthermore, perceived usefulness is significantly influenced by perceived convenience and perceived ease of use. Additionally, perceived enjoyment significantly influences the behavioral intention to use MLA. On the other hand, perceived compatibility has no significant influence on perceived enjoyment. Finally, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and perceived compatibility have no significant effect on behavioral intention to use MLA. This study addresses a critical research gap in the distance learning acceptance literature by proposing an exhaustive model in the post-COVID-19 era that can help to improve students’ performance and outcomes in Jordanian schools and universities.
The study aimed to measure the impact of several antecedent factors (ease of use toward e-learning, usefulness toward e-learning, training on e-learning, and trust of e-learning) and intermediate factors (attitude to use e-learning and the intention to use e-learning) on the Jordanian Zarqa University students' actual use of e-learning systems. Measurement tool was developed to examine the relationship between the study variables. The sample of (340) was selected from Zarqa University students. Results indicated that ease of use toward e-learning, usefulness toward e-learning, training on e-learning, and trust of elearning impacted attitude to use e-learning. Also, ease of use toward e-learning, training on e-learning, and trust of e-learning did not impact the actual use of e-learning, while usefulness toward e-learning did. The study found that attitude to use e-learning mediate the relationship between the four antecedents and the students' actual use of e-learning systems; whereas the intention to use e-learning mediated the relationship between (ease of use toward e-learning, usefulness toward e-learning, training on e-learning) and the students' actual use of e-learning systems, while trust of e-learning did not.
The purpose of this study is to look into Jordanian customers' purchasing habits in regard to electronic commerce. The goal of this research is to investigate the impact of social media on electronic commerce trust and purchasing behavior. Trust's impact on social commerce was also investigated. Furthermore, the influence of social commerce on electronic commerce purchasing behavior has been studied in greater depth. This study proposed a conceptual model, which was empirically tested with a survey of 150 Jordanians. The study's findings stated that social media and social commerce had a significant impact on Jordanians' purchasing behavior toward e-commerce. Besides that, trust has a significant impact on social commerce. Furthermore, social commerce influences e-commerce purchasing behavior. Because the study was limited to Jordan, one of the primary limitations of this study is that the results cannot be generalized. Similar studies in other countries are needed to either support or refute our findings.
