Inertia is an attribute of various systems, including sustainable development. The study of the inertia of sustainable development as a complex industrial-ecological and socio-economic supersystems is necessary to give due depth to theoretical explanations of the processes implemented in the practice of regulating industrial production, economic relations that determine the environmental load, the level of consumption of natural resources, to identify qualitative and quantitative relationships between factors of changes in structural proportions in production and consumption, their sources and relocation productive forces. The result if the study of inertia as a quality of macroeconomic structural changes, immanent to sustainable development, should be a knowledge of the forms of the transition of economic achievements of society into environmental ones. The study of sustainable development inertia is intended to improve the forecasting of various processes of interaction between man and the environment through the use of productive forces. The content of structural inertia of sustainable development can be revealed through the dynamic and actively transforming properties of structural shifts no less than through the conservatism of the structure of the economy, therefore, the creation of conditions for the regulated implementation of structural inertia, its transition into its opposite – acceleration of positive structural transformations – is associated with the regulation of economic relations in the system of environment management, production and consumption of natural resources, dynamization of changes in structural proportions between raw materials production and its processing, to overcome delaying the formation of new structural elements.
Purpose: The purpose of this article is to analyze and forecast the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the labor market of Armenia. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework of the article draws upon several key concepts relevant to labor market analysis. It incorporates elements from labor economics, macroeconomics, and crisis management literature to provide a comprehensive understanding of the impact of the COVID-19. Design/methodology/approach: To analyze and predict the dynamics of labor market indicators, this study uses statistical analysis and modelling tools, including fundamental and technical analysis. Technical analysis involves components of the time series, such as trend, seasonality, dummy variables, cyclical components, and random components. Findings: The study revealed that labor market of Armenia has been severely affected by the COVID-19. The government's implementation of restrictions aimed at containing the spread of the virus has led to significant job losses. The existing labor market policies and support programs in place before the pandemic proved inadequate in addressing the challenges posed by the crisis. Research, Practical & Social implications: The article offers empirical evidence and forecasting insights that can deepen understanding of the consequences of the pandemic on employment, sectoral dynamics, and labor market resilience. It provides policymakers with valuable insights into the specific challenges faced by the labor market due to the pandemic. Originality/value: Although there are analyses of how COVID-19 shocked the labor markets, the significance of this research is emphasized by its comparative analysis of the labor markets of countries on various levels of development.
The paper examines existing problems of inclusion and ways to overcome them in the context of a blended learning environment. The survey was conducted among 74 students with disabilities (7th and 8th years of study) in several schools in Samara, Russian Federation. The authors revealed a strong satisfaction with the blended learning program, as well as a number of related barriers that prevent children from receiving a secondary education. The recommended activities included: implementation of digital learning for these children, starting from preschool education; improving the ethical and professional skills of teachers who work with students with disabilities; engaging parents in the learning process, etc. The paper can be used as a prototype for the implementation of similar blended learning programs in schools for children with disabilities, as well as in future research on the digitization of inclusive education in Russia. Keywords: barriers, blended learning environment, children with disabilities, disabilities, learning.
Purpose: The goal of the article is to identify the transmission mechanisms of economic shocks in the EAEU, and determine the impact of external shocks on the key macroeconomic indicators. Theoretical framework: While there is a considerable body of literature on the transmission channels of economic shocks, there remains a need for empirical studies to identify the precise impact of these channels on crucial macroeconomic indicators, including but not limited to GDP, public debt, and exchange rates. Design/methodology/approach: In this article, we have identified three primary sources of transmission channels of shocks that affect the EAEU: global economic growth, instability of the international stock market, and volatility in raw material markets. To analyze the impact of these channels on macroeconomic indicators, we developed a panel vector autoregression model using 29 indicators for five countries. The model uses quarterly data from 2010 to 2022. Findings: The study revealed that shocks are transmitted to EAEU economies through several channels, including the exchange rate, foreign trade, foreign investments, budget indicators, and inflation. The impacts of changes in raw asset prices and global financial market conditions are observable across all these channels. Ultimately, all shocks have an impact on the rate of economic growth, as well as the government's debt burden. Research, Practical & Social implications: We are proposing a new research agenda and direction, emphasizing the need for empirical studies that align with the economic policy of integration. Such studies will be essential in advancing our understanding of the transmission mechanisms of economic shocks and their impact on the EAEU. Originality/value: Although there are analyses of how economic shocks are transmitted within specific countries, the significance of this research is emphasized by its examination of the EAEU as a cohesive entity.
Journal of Business Management Volume 18 mainly comprises papers which are the results of the international research project "Higher Education Institutions for Youth Entrepreneurship". The papers "Development of youth entrepreneurship in Latvia: A comparison of youth's and experts' opinions", "Problems in the development of youth entrepreneurship in the Republic of Armenia" and "Activation of youth entrepreneurship in Ukraine: Youth's view of the problem" are devoted to problems of youth entrepreneurship in Eastern Europe. One of the papers is devoted to a topic of growing importance: women's representation on boards. The final paper of this volume, "Institutional governance matters in the context of social capital and international entrepreneurial entry: A multi-level perspective", is devoted to a better comprehension of institutional governance factors impacting the relationship between social capital possessed by entrepreneurial ventures and their ability to enter the international market. The results of these studies are useful not only for other researchers, but for policymakers as well. All the papers were double-blind peer reviewed. Following the necessary corrections and additions resulting from the review process, five accepted papers were included in the issue.
This article aimed to provide a quantitative assessment of the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on Armenia"s foreign trade. The research problem was to analyze how the conflict influenced Armenia"s export and import patterns regarding geographical directions and product structure. The objectives were to examine the changes in trade turnover and identify shifts in geographical trade directions and trade structure. The study employed various statistical analysis tools, including dynamic series indicators, structural analysis, time series modeling, trend and moving average approximation, and extrapolation. Through these methods, the study evaluated the effects of the conflict on Armenia"s foreign trade. The key results indicated a positive impact of the conflict on trade turnover, with increased trade activity in various geographical directions. Export diversification was also observed as a result of the conflict. Notably, re-export played a significant role in the unprecedented growth of Armenia"s trade turnover during this period. In conclusion, the findings suggest that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict had a discernible influence on Armenia"s foreign trade, leading to changes in trade patterns and increased trade activity. The study highlights the importance of the re-exports role in analyzing trade dynamics.
