In coastal areas, mangrove communities have many functions economically, physically, and ecologically. One of the mangrove forest areas that is experiencing rapid decline in area is the Segara Anakan Lagoon, Cilacap. The purpose of this study was to determine the structure and composition of mangrove vegetation. Vegetation data was collected by purposive sampling method and each station was made 9 sampling plots. The results found that there are 12 species consisting of 4 major mangrove families, 1 minor mangrove family and 2 associated mangrove families. In general, the mangrove tree vegetation in the eastern part of Segara Anakan is dominated by Aegiceras corniculatum with an INP ranging from 38.99-67.23%, the middle part is dominated by Nypa fruticans with an INP ranging from 47.80-70.18% and the western part is dominated by Sonneratia alba with an INP of 56.32%. Environmental quality measures include water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, soil pH, water pH, TSS, total soil N, organic C, soil phosphate still support mangrove life.
Segara Anakan Lagoon is a unique and distinctive area where most of the ecosystem is dominated by mangrove ecosystems. Some fauna makes the ecosystem as a place for feeding ground, nursery ground and spawning ground for example macrozoobenthos. Its sessile nature makes the biota used as a bioindicator of an area. The Segara Anakan mangrove forest is currently under pressure due to the process of sedimentation and conversion of functions by residents. Therefore, this study aims to determine the interaction between the abundance of macrozoobenthos with environmental conditions. The research was carried out in July-September 2021 at the Segara Anakan Lagoon, Cilacap. The sampling method used is the Sample Survey Method with three stations determined purposively by describing different habitat conditions. Sampling was carried out on a monthly and the data obtained were analyzed by PCA. The results showed that the highest abundance of macrobenthos was found in the western part of the Segara Anakan mangrove forest. The value of macrozoobenthos abundance is influenced by TSS related to food availability. Furthermore, the quality of water and soil is still in accordance with the quality standards of marine life. Keywords: Environmental Characteristics; Macrozoobenthos; Mangrove; Segara Anakan
This research was aims to determine the effect of coconut shell liquid smoke application on the smoking process on the physicochemical quality of smoked catfish stored at freezing temperature for 14 days. The test parameters used were proximate analysis (protein, fat, and water content), salt-soluble protein, pH, texture (adhesion, springness, cohesiveness, hardness). Analysis of the data in this experiment using a completely randomized design with different storage time treatments (0 days; 7 days; and 14 days) at freezing temperatures. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the application of coconut shell liquid smoke to smoked catfish gave a significant difference (P <0.05) to the physicochemical quality including proximate, salt-soluble protein, pH, and texture. During storage, there was a decrease in the proximate value and salt soluble protein of smoked catfish, while the pH value increased. Meanwhile, texture, adhesion, springiness, and cohesiveness values decreased along with the decreasing proximate value of smoked catfish, and the hardness value showed an increase during storage resulting in a harder texture of fish meat due to protein denaturation. Keywords: Coconut shell liquid smoke, Frozen storage, Physicochemical quality, Smoked catfish nutritional
Abstract. The presence of introduced fish populations in the Penjalin Reservoir is increasing, one of the dominant ones being caught is Marsela (Parachromis managuensis). It is feared that this fish population will continue to increase and will have a negative impact on other organisms, especially native fish communities. This study aims to determine the eating habits of Marsela fish, the composition of the type of food and its relationship to the abundance of plankton in the waters. This research was conducted in September-October 2018. The method used was CPUE with a sampling technique that is Simple Random Sampling. Sampling of fish in one day is done 6 times, namely at 05:00, 11:00, 17:30, 21:00, 00:00, and 03:00. Fish samples obtained are then grouped according to length and then an analysis of the contents of the stomach. The results showed that in the Penjalin Reservoir the percentage of phytoplankton presence was 96% with the highest abundance found in the Bacillariophyta group. Marsela is an omnivorous fish with popular foods are Chlorophyta and Charophyta. However, in adulthood Marsela fish also eat animals. Keywords: Marsela Fish (Parachromis managuensis), Fish Eating Habits, Penjalin Reservoir
This study aims to determine the gastropod community in the Cilacap Segara Anakan Mangrove Forest. The research was conducted in July-September in the Cilacap Segara Anakan Mangrove Forest. This study uses a survey method, sampling is carried out 3 times in July-September 2021. The sampling method is purposive random sampling. There are 3 observation stations, station 1 in the east, station 2 in the middle and station 3 in the west of the Cilacap Segara Anakan Mangrove Forest. The results of this study were 17 species and divided into 7 families, namely Potamididae, Neritidae, Littorinidae, Muricidae, Ellobiidae, Thiaridae, Assimineidae. Diversity (H') ranges from 0.45-1.06, which means that the level of diversity is in the low to medium category. High gastropod abundance was found at station 3, which was 747 individuals with 12 species. Dominance (C) with the highest index value of 0.76 which means that the level of dominance of gastropods is high and there is a dominant gastropod species, namely Melanoides tuberulata and the lowest index value of 0.36 which means that the level of dominance of gastropods is low, there is no dominant gastropod.
This study was to determine the functional properties of fish protein hydrolysis produced from tilapia frame. This study used a factorial design where the first factor was different types of proteolytic enzymes (E1 = bromelain, E2 = papain) and the second factor was different hydrolysis time (T1 = 5 hours, T2 = 6 hours) and was carried out with 3 replications. The results of the analysis showed that the different types of enzymes and hydrolysis time had a significant difference on the yield, degree of hydrolysis, proximate, viscosity, and protein solubility. This product has the potential to be used as food additives that can give special function properties so further research needs to be carried out to investigate these special functional properties for health and reduce the fat content that can affect the self-life product. Keywords: Functional properties; Protein hydrolysis; Nile tilapia frame
