Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk resistensi perempuan perspektif Naomi Wolf dalam film. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini mengacu pada konsep feminisme Naomi Wolf, yaitu spesifik pada feminisme kekuasaan. Objek penelitian ini adalah film dokumenter bersubtitle bahasa Inggris berjudul For Sama yang disutradarai oleh Wa’ad Al-Khateab dan Edward Watts. Film ini mengungkap realitas konflik Suriah tepatnya di kota Aleppo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dan studi pustaka (library research). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tonton, teknik simak, teknik baca, dan teknik catat. Analisis data melalui tahapan reduksi data, pemaparan data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa bentuk resistensi perempuan dalam Film For Sama perspektif Naomi Wolf terdiri atas enam bentuk, yaitu: (1) independensi; (2) altruisme; (3) persistensi; (4) chauvinisme; (5) revolusioner; (6) ketangguhan.
Konflik sosial merupakan bentuk dasar interaksi yang terjadi secara alamiyah. Konflik sosial adalah entitas dan realitas dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. George Simmel mengkonsepkan gagasan konflik sosial sebagai tindakan permusuhan timbal balik, yang dipicu oleh benturan sifat-sifat manusia konfliktis dan sifat alamiah manusia feeling of hostility. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan bentuk dan penyebab konflik sosial dalam novel Aib dan Nasib karya Minanto berdasarkan perspektif George Simmel; (2) mendeskripsikan penyelesaian konflik sosial dalam novel Aib dan Nasib karya Minanto berdasarkan perspektif George Simmel. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dan studi pustaka (library research). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca dan teknik catat. Analisis data mengacu pada model Miles Huberman, yaitu melalui tahapan reduksi data, pemaparan data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konflik soial dalam novel Aib dan Nasib karya Minanto berdasarkan perspektif George Simmel terdiri dari: (1) tiga bentuk konflik sosial yaitu: a. konflik kepentingan dengan satu wujud konflik sosial, yaitu adu mulut; b. konflik antar pribadi dengan empat wujud konflik sosial: adu mulut, sindiran, pengeroyokan, dan ketegangan; c. konflik dalam hubungan intim dengan dua wujud konflik sosial: adu mulut dan ketegangan; (2) empat penyelesaian konflik yaitu koersi, mediasi, toleransi, dan konversi.
Sarcasm is a harsher style of satire in hurtful jokes with a specific purpose. Sarcasm is the dominant language style used in Mark Manson's The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck. This study aims to identify sentence forms of sarcasm and analyze the translation quality of sarcastic expressions. This translation study employs a qualitative descriptive design. The research data takes the form of sentences containing sarcasm and its translation. The data is collected through document analysis, interviews, and focus group discussions. The results showed four types of sarcasm in the book The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck, including ridicule, satire, proximity, and humor. Besides, the translation quality of the book The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck has a high level of accuracy, acceptability, and readability, evidenced by the proper use of eleven translation techniques applied by the translator to 145 data. The frequent techniques contributing to the quality of translation are compensation, adaptation, transposition, and modulation techniques.
This research explains the differences and similarities in the forms and representations of stereotypical ideas of women in Yemeni and Indonesian society in the novel “A Country Without a Sky” by Wajdi Al-Ahdal and “The Virgin of Jakarta” by Najib Al-Kilani. It uses comparative literature and Helen Sixus feminism focusing on the dualistic patriarchal opposition. Data collection techniques used reading and taking notes. The analysis refers to the comparative literary analysis model by François Just, through the phases of object-deepening, subject-study and focus analysis. The results show the similarity of the forms of stereotyped ideas of women that the Yemeni and the Indonesian women are beautiful and contradictory. The stereotypes about Indonesian society are more fluid than the Yemenis. The similarity of the main social representations behind the stereotypical notions of is the ideology that attempts to eradicate religion from human life. The ideology of secularism and communism requires people to separate religion from life. The social and cultural differences between Yemenis and Indonesians are due to the difference in the year of the novel, 1965 and 2008. The distance that separates the distant years will certainly describe a completely different life.
