Context:Parents' despair and feelings of grief, as well as communication and coordination that is less than adequate between the parents and the palliative team, can affect the provision of a qualified palliative care plan for children and their families.Aims:This study aims to explore the parents' experience in caring for children with cancer under palliative care condition.Setting and Design:The research applied descriptive qualitative phenomenology design.Subjects and Methods:The study was conducted at Jakarta, Bogor, and Bekasi. Parents who caring their child with cancer under palliative care were in-depth interviewed with open-ended question. Data were then analyzed using the Colaizzi method.Results:This study resulted in two themes, still hoping for a miracle of God and always being surrendered while under palliative care. Parents still hope for a miracle of God to keep having their children during palliative care. The forms of surrendering exhibited by the parents in this study are believing in God, praying to God, saying thanks to God, relying on God, and preparing to face the deaths of their children.Conclusion:This study shows that during palliative care, parents cannot be separated from their relationship with God. Therefore, nurses are vital to the continuous assessment of parents' spiritual needs and to the facilitation of need fulfillment involving family and religious figures.

Children often experience malnutrition while they are hospitalized. Therefore, the prevention of malnutrition and nutritional management need to be done properly using malnutrition screening tools. This study aimed to determine the sensitivity and specificity of the Pediatric Yorkhill Malnutrition Score (PYMS) and the Screening Tool for the Risk of Impaired Nutritional Status and Growth (STRONGkids) when compared to the Subjective Global Nutritional Assessment for Children (SGNA). This study involved 81 pediatric patients with ages ranging from 1 to 16 years old. The two screening tools and the SGNA were examined in each subject. The results of this study determined that the sensitivity and specificity of the PYMS were 95.7% and 66.7%, respectively, while in the STRONGkids they were 52.2% and 41.7%, respectively. This indicates that the PYMS is the most appropriate malnutrition screening tool to be used for a malnutrition screening policy.

Background Baby-led weaning (BLW), a method for introducing complementary foods, has become popular because it is considered beneficial for infants. Methods This study investigated the experiences of mothers when using BLW in Jakarta, Indonesia using a qualitative descriptive approach. Thirteen mothers participated who had introduced complementary feeding using BLW for a minimum of 6 months. Semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis was used to work with the data. Results Three themes were identified: avoiding being a ‘picky’ eater; infants gagging and choking; and becoming independent feeders. Conclusion Further research related to the growth and development of baby-led weaning infants in Indonesia is recommended.
