Bali is one of the provinces in Indonesia that carry out festival activities in various regions. One of the regular festivals held annually since 2015 is the Ubud Food Festival which is held in Banjar Penestanan Kaja, Ubud District, Gianyar Regency, Bali, Indonesia. Ubud Food Festival is a culinary festival featuring various Indonesian specialties. This research focuses on the social and economic impacts caused by the organizers of the Ubud Food Festival in Banjar Penestanan Kaja Ubud, Gianyar Bali, and expected to be useful for the organizers and the local community of Banjar Penestanan Kaja to find out all kinds of economic and social changes resulting from the implementation of the Ubud Food Festival which has been held for the past five years. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the implementation of an activity or event, has impacted the social and economic aspects for the community. Banjar Penestanan Kaja community, both positive and negative impacts.
The implementation of a humanistic approach in educational institutions could be guidance in balancing High Tech and High Touch. The humanistic approach is defined as a physical and spiritual activity to maximize the development process, as well as an effort to master the treasures of knowledge in a series of overall personality formations. This research is qualitative research that analyzes the application of the humanistic approach in the design of the Edu-Recreation concept at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Politeknik Pariwisata Bali) through the study of documents and other literature, and also observation and interview. The results of the research are proposed as input for developing existing designs so that they can have a more significant influence in improving the quality of education at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic. As the result, the Edu-Recreation concept design at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic has implemented values in the humanistic education approach, namely the development of the affective aspects of students and the freedom to develop self-potential.
Training program evaluation is highly necessary and important to improve the business, particularly in the hospitality business. The aim of this research is to analyze the quality of training programs held for employees in the Front Office Department at Aryaduta Bali Hotel based on the Kirkpatrick Model and finding out a possible suggestion for improvement that could be done to enhance the quality of training programs. The data for this study was obtained by distributing an online questionnaire and conducting interviews. To validate the data, testing was done through data triangulation. As a result of this study, there are 2 criteria that show that the training program needs improvements more on how to satisfy the participants and how to more effectively evaluate the program. To improve these aspects, anonymous evaluation to gather detailed and objective input from the participant is suggested to be done.
Employee satisfaction level is important to be maintained at the workplace to make them performed well at the workplace. This research focuses on the level of satisfaction at Daluman Villa. The level of employee satisfaction was analyzed using Gruneberg theory as the fundamental theory in constructing this research. The data obtained were collected from the questionnaire distribution and interview. The questionnaire data obtained were tested its validity and reliability using SPSS system and Cronbach’s Alpha. The data obtained were discussed by using descriptive analysis and qualitative analysis. The result from the research is most employees are satisfied with the indicators stated by Gruneberg theory. To Daluman Villa, it could be suggested that they should maintaining the good practices that have been done in order to keep the employees satisfied with their job, thus their performance and productivity would be maintained as well, or even enhanced.
To understand the learning style of the learners is important and useful to decide what learning strategy is the most suitable to be implemented. Considering that significance, this study aims at analysing learning style of students of Travel Business Management, Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Bali (Bali Tourism Institute). The data was collected through questionaire in which the contentc is the adaptation of VARK questionaire which was developed by Flemming (1993, in Pritchard, 2009). Data was analysed quantitatively through tabulation and then described qualitatively. As the result, the students are found to have different learning styles, namely 6 students (20,69%) are aural, 5 students (17,24%) have read/write learning style, 15 students (51,72%) are kinaesthetic, and 1 students to each has bimodal kinaesthetic Read/write-kinaesthetic, bimodal aural-kinaesthetic, and trimodal visual-aural-read/write. Based on the result, it can be proposed a recommendation to the teacher that the strategies of teaching have to facilitate all the learning styles own by the students to make them able to learn at their best.
