The introduction of the best modern approaches to public management in the economic sphere is of particular importance for Ukraine. The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that the initiated structural reforms in Ukraine put forward new requirements for public management in the economic sphere. Thus, existing approaches to public management in the economic sphere require transformation. The lack of sufficient scientific justification for improving public management in the economic sphere in modern Ukrainian science indicates the importance of paying attention to this particular problem. The purpose of the study is to develop practical recommendations for improving public management in the economic sphere in Ukraine. In the paper, it is proposed to develop a concept of public management strategy in the economic sphere in Ukraine, which takes into account the tasks of increasing the economic independence of regions and territorial communities, supporting their economic development, increasing their economic activities, and ensuring competitiveness in the long term. Attention is also paid to identifying priority areas for improving the state regional policy in the economic sphere; creating conditions and eliminating internal and external threats to the economic development of the country, regions, and territorial communities; improvement of forecasting and policy documents on economic development.
The article is devoted to identify the need for social investment in the activities of Ukrainian corporations in formulating a social responsibility strategy. The purpose of the article is to investigate the development of social investment in the activities of corporations to determine the main directions of social responsibility in the formation of the strategy of Ukrainian companies. The methodological survey was conducted using a social investment index based on data from the official e-CSR website, non-financial reports of Ukrainian best-practice companies and corporate sustainability reports. The article is investigated definition of social investment as a subjects of the investment process, types of social investments. It is calculated the social investment index of Ukranian best-practice companies with responsible investing practices (PJSC «Mironovsky Bakery», DTEK, NNEGC Energoatom, PJSC Arcelor Mittal Kryviy Rih, NJSC «Ukrenergo», LLC Lifefell, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, LLC «Nova Poshta», SCM, PJSC Carlsberg Ukraine). The analysis allowed to determine the effective and destructive directions of doing socially responsible business which is based on selected indicators. The results allowed us to identify key barriers to social investing and the main directions of development of corporate social investment in Ukraine: increase of transparency of corporate activity, information awareness of business on the development of social investments in the national market, ensuring the ethics of doing business and adhering to the principles of integrity in the implementation of company development strategies, improving product quality in accordance with international standards.
The article deals with the sustainable urban mobility indicators framework. Currently, over half of the world’s population resides in cities. This urbanization trend is expected to continue and more than 80 per cent of humanity is expected to live cities by 2050. The urbanization process is accompanied by economic growth, but also drives the consumption of materials and energy, the production of waste, and the emission of greenhouse gases and impacts city mobility quality. Sustainable development is the main paradigm of modern city development which presupposes a balance between the needs of the present and development opportunities for future generations. Strategic transport planning in modern European cities takes the form of developing and implementing Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans. Ukrainian cities do not stand aside from European trends and are gradually developing and implementing urban mobility plans. An integral part of transport planning is the development of indicators of sustainable urban mobility. Sustainable mobility indicators provide information on current trends in the development of the society, city system viability, and the functioning of its elements. The development of effective, easily calculated, and interpreted indicators will reduce public costs and increase the efficiency of strategic transportation planning. The development of indicators of sustainable urban mobility involves careful analysis and systematization of data and finally results in indicators frameworks development. Sustainable mobility indicators frameworks based on important relationships between infrastructure needs and the environment, infrastructure and transportation impacts on the economy, environment, and social well-being. These frameworks can be used to help agencies refine their visions as well as develop policies, planning procedures, and measurement and monitoring systems for achieving sustainable city mobility. The development of such frameworks for Ukrainian cities requires the study of international experience and taking into account the national characteristics of the country.
