La aparición de Internet ha supuesto un cambio de paradigma en la forma que tiene el ser humano de relacionarse, comunicarse e incluso entender la vida. Investigadores, agentes educativos y padres han venido mostrando en los últimos años una creciente preocupación por el uso que hacen los escolares y adolescentes de internet, tanto en cantidad como en calidad. Por ello, este trabajó se planteó con una doble intención: por un lado, disponer de datos que permitan conocer desde un punto de vista descriptivo cuáles son las actitudes y conductas de los escolares en el uso de Internet; y, por otro lado, profundizar en su comprensión para proponer estrategias que favorezcan un uso más racional de la red. En el presente estudio participaron 508 estudiantes de diferentes centros escolares de la provincia de Badajoz (España). Se utilizó el cuestionario EUPI-a. Los resultados evidencian que Internet está robustamente implementado entre la población escolar objeto de estudio y constata que existen conductas potencialmente peligrosas entre los estudiantes que se deben tener en cuenta por parte de centros educativos, familias e instituciones.
A lo largo de los últimos años, nuestra sociedad ha experimentado una gran transformación, donde la diversidad y la heterogeneidad han adquirido un mayor protagonismo. Frente a este contexto, debe ser imperativo social otorgar una respuesta desde el sistema educativo que, además de adecuada, sea eficaz. En este sentido, la inclusión educativa constituye el mejor medio para lograrlo, bajo la premisa de que la implicación y la participación de todos sus agentes es la única alternativa para la transformación de los centros educativos. Sin embargo, esto no puede lograrse sin una formación adecuada de los docentes, principales agentes educativos en los procesos de enseñanza. El objetivo del presente trabajo es el de analizar los programas de formación inicial docente, así como de formación continua, con el objetivo de vislumbrar si los conocimientos y competencias que estos desarrollan son suficientes para hacer frente a las nuevas demandas que presenta el sistema educativo español. Metodológicamente, hemos llevado a cabo una revisión de la literatura, que ha sido complementada con un análisis de distintos programas de formación docente en la Comunidad de Madrid. Los resultados alcanzados ponen de manifiesto una necesaria actualización y revisión de estos programas formativos, que se presentan insuficientes, con el fin de proporcionar una respuesta adecuada y congruente, que dé cabida a todas los estudiantes, sin distinción alguna.
El presente trabajo de investigación versa sobre las relaciones “paradójicas” entre territorio y educación en España, tomando como referente el espacio castellanoleonés que ofrece, en base a informes nacionales e internacionales, unas cotas educativas plenamente comparables internacionalmente. Esta “buena educación” presenta un importante margen de mejora. El equipo de investigación ha realizado 59 entrevistas abiertas (a una muestra de 8 centros). Se han entrevistado dos tipos de actores: sociales y educativos. El estudio se estructura en dos partes. Una “política” en la que los retos se han diagnosticado a partir del enfoque metodológico SLR (Sistematic Literature Review) y, una segunda, “pedagógica”, en la que el tratamiento de las fuentes orales se ha realizado a partir del CCS (Comparative Case Study) (Bartlett y Vavrus). Los resultados nos indican que en el imaginario de los actores aparecen desafíos que requieren respuesta (política y social). Se refieren a las condiciones laborales y formativas de los docentes, a los recursos y medios, a las relaciones entre actores y a los ajustes curriculares. También exigen reforzar las relaciones con el entorno (socioeconómico e institucional), la estabilidad de las políticas educativas, la confianza y responsabilidad de y en la educación, un refuerzo de la autonomía escolar y pedagógica y la mejora de la formación de los equipos directivos.
En las últimas décadas, estamos comprobando cómo se está produciendo un constante flujo de iniciativas pedagógicas que pretenden poner solución a la exclusión social y económica de los más jóvenes. Sin duda, es la iniciativa europea Second Chance Schools (E2C), que cumple en estas fechas 20 años de aplicación, la que de manera más firme, organizada e institucionalizada, se ha configurado como imprescindible para alcanzar la igualdad de oportunidades desde la Escuela. Valiéndonos del método de revisión bibliográfica, en combinación con el enfoque sociocrítico, pretendemos conocer cuáles son los orígenes de esta propuesta, que anticipamos a mediados de los años 90, cuál es su evolución político-educativa así como, finalmente, el reflejo que esta presenta, en la actualidad, en los distintos países de Europa. Conseguiremos, de este modo, descubrir, por un lado, si la E2C puede y debe ser considerada como una acción de carácter supranacional y, por otro, si esta es un garante de equidad educativa capaz de alcanzar éxito a partir del fracaso. Para ello, remitimos una discusión en la que ponemos sobre el papel aquellos pros y contras, ventajas y desventajas, de esta apuesta socioeducativa tan alabada como criticada, concluyendo, finalmente, con un planteamiento novedoso respecto a las potencialidades y posibilidades que, aún poco reconocidas u ocultas, creemos que tienen estas escuelas de la oportunidad.
