A B S T R A C TThe sowing process is one of the most important steps in agricultural production chain, requiring a good efficiency in order to avoid seed and plant population losses. In order to achieve a satisfactory performance of the seeder, the agricultural implement needs to be properly adjusted. Therefore, the present study aimed to verify both the operational performance and sowing quality of the agricultural equipment, depending on different working depths and different operating velocities. The experimental design was a factorial, with two theoretical velocities and three working depths. The velocity of 6.8 km h -1 achieved both a good operating consumption and a low fuel consumption per working area and when associated with working depth of 0.05 m provided better operational performance. However, the operating velocity of 4.8 km h -1 made it possible to increase the number of normal spacing of seeds, an improved quality of sowing and the possibility of greater population.
The experimental design was randomized blocks with three replications and treatments distributed in a factorial (2 x 3 x 3), and two spacings (0.45 m and 0.90 m), three speeds of the combine (1.8 km.h-1 3.5 km. h-1 and 4.1 km. h-1 ) and three openings of the concave (25 mm, 30 mm and 35 mm). For treatments where the spacing was 0.45 m, the harvester worked with a power of two lines dividing line between the platform crop while in treatments where the spacing was 0.90 m, the harvester worked with a power dividing line between a line of platform. The plant population was the same for the two spacings used in the experiment. The natural losses were higher in the conventional spacing, but the header losses of harvest had the lowest use this space
The working depth and ballasting are factors that can influence directly the operational and energy performance of a mechanized set. The objective of this study was to evaluate the operational and energetic performance of the set tractor-scarifier, working at three depths under two ballasting conditions. The study was conducted in the experimental area of mechanization of the Department of Agricultural Engineering at the Federal University of Ceará in Fortaleza. The experimental design was of randomized blocks in a factorial scheme 2 x 3, with four replications, with two liquid ballasting (0 and 75% water) and three working depths (0.15; 0.30 and 0.40 m). The parameters evaluated were the soil water content, periodic and specific consumption of fuel, the overall work rate, slipping of the front and rear wheels of the tractor, travel speed, specific operational resistance, mobilized and lifting area, blistering, strength and power in the drawbar. The ballasting with 75% of water associated with a lower depth provided greater operational field capacity, lower demand for strength and power in the drawbar with lower fuel consumption by area.
