Due to customer driven economies, today's world markets are characterized by high fluctuations in market demand and frequent arrival of new technologies and new products. To stay competitive in such markets manufacturing companies require continuous improvements both in technical and organizational areas of their activity. The paper presents results of the diagnosis provided in the manufacturing area of the company producing cardboard packages and recommendations to make the production process more efficient. Especially, among the proposed technical and organizational recommendations the most important ones are: automation of certain elements of the production process and changes in production plant layout.
The environment in which managers currently operate is dynamic and turbulent. This fact affects the great complexity and dynamism of changes. Thus, decision-making becomes more complex in the context of sustainability. Decisive decision-making is becoming rare, and the challenge of globalization is increasing. Under its influence, decision-making is no longer deterministic. Decision-making processes prevail in conditions of uncertainty. In this context, there is a very intense need to be acquainted with progressive tools to support decision-making and management and to apply the acquired knowledge in practice. This paper focuses on three related areas. We are talking about knowledge management in connection with the most important contributing element—decision-making with quality management. We deal with the characteristics of the individual areas, defining their mutual relationship on a systemic basis. The paper also points to the necessary connection between theory and practice. More specifically, it points to the practical applications of management to decision-making as a managerial function and, at the same time, related to decision-making in quality management. Subsequently, we define the links to knowledge management with an emphasis on the use of procedures, methods, and knowledge in the decision-making process, which we use in theory and practice in quality management.
The product price consists from several items. Time needed for adequate control of product is one of the most significant items, which can get expensive. So it is important, how the measurement strategy (measurement plan) is prepared. Time, which is not used for control of products by 3D measurement machine, is financial loss for company. This article deals with simulation of contact measurement, as a progressive tool, for preparation and creation of measurement plans for 3D coordinate measurement machines. Furthermore, the article deals with factors, that are not taken into account by offline programming during creation of measurement plan. Those can ultimately lead to significant difference between measurement simulation and measurement performed in workspace of measurement machines or CNC machines. This difference can cause serious shortcomings in measurement plans created in offline programming modules.

The article tackles the possibilities and effectiveness of different printing strategies on Easy 3D MAKER printer. This printer uses Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) method. The operating software of the 3D printer offers various settings, which influence the quality and efficiency of printing. In the article there is described the printing of a sample with all fillament print strategies available in the 3D maker software. The fillament print strategy of the printed model fundamentally influences the consumption of printing material and time at printing the component. The consumption of printing material was assessed indirectly by weight of particular printed samples. For each printing strategy there were 5 samples printed out. The Octagramspiral strategy resulted as the best in material consumption aspect. The most effective strategy in printing time perspective is the Concentric strategy.
