Purpose
The study aims is to examine the determinant factors of small and medium enterprises’ (SMEs’) intention to adopt the Islamic crowdfunding model as alternative sources of finance.
Design/methodology/approach
Using a survey questionnaire, 385 responses were received from owners and managers of SMEs in three states (Kano, Kaduna and Katsina) of northwestern Nigeria and analyses using PLS-SEM 3.0 software.
Findings
All hypotheses were found to be significant.
Research limitations/implications
The research focused only on northwestern Nigeria; there is a need for further research to focus on other geographical zones in Nigeria.
Practical implications
Crowd funders and policymakers can use these findings to enable the adoption of the Islamic crowdfunding model.
Originality/value
The previous study has not examined the role of technology acceptance model in the adoption of the financial model; these findings contribute to the crowdfunding literature by filling this gap.
The rapid growth of the hotel industry in the current era of globalization requires hotel operators to acknowledge the importance of service provision and its management in order to compete effectively and to gain competitive advantage at the same time. Building a strong workforce is essential to realize this vision. Therefore, it is vital for the hotel operators to establish a good relationship between their management and the employees to achieve its goals and objectives. As such, this paper aims to examine the importance of emotional intelligence in shaping benevolent leaders and organizational commitment as the mediator of the relationship between benevolent leadership and organizational citizenship behavior. This study is one of the pioneer studies of benevolent leadership conducted in a multicultural context. Moreover, this study also highlighted the effectiveness of benevolent leadership in encouraging voluntary extrarole effort and improving the turnover issues in the hotel industry of Malaysia. The data was collected using multistage sampling from 300 hotel employees from fourand five-star hotels in Klang Valley of Malaysia. Both Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and AMOS (Analysis of Moment Structures) statistical software were used for the hypotheses testing. The results from the analysis showed that the emotional intelligence of supervisors is significantly related to benevolent leadership. Organizational commitment was found to have a mediation effect on the relationship between benevolent leadership and organizational citizenship behavior.
Using the perspective of social exchange theory, this study aims to provide insight on the relationship between supervisory justice, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and innovative behavior using mediation approach of tacit knowledge sharing. Research on the justice, OCB, and tacit knowledge sharing relationship has received minimal research attention although the role of justice and OCB is influencing the social exchange relationship quality between the employee and supervisor is well established. Method: Data were collected on a sample of 339 nurse dyads in 3 major disciplines in a Malaysian public teaching hospital. The data analyses were performed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) which confirmed using Partial Least Square (PLS 3.0). PLS is applied to test the research model as it has a less critical requirement of the sample size to validate. Findings: For the direct effect, the results provide support for the acceptance of all hypotheses because there are statistically significant relationships. For the indirect effect, following the mediation analysis procedure, it is concluded that tacit knowledge sharing partially mediates the relationship since both the direct and indirect effects are significant. Conclusion: This study provides a new perspective on the mediating effect of tacit knowledge sharing in predicting innovative behavior from individual factors (supervisory justice and OCB) among nurses. Contributions: From a theoretical perspective, this study contributes to the literature by introducing the mediating effect of tacit knowledge sharing on the relationships between individual factors and innovative behavior. From a practical perspective, this study provides empirical evidence on the proposed framework and provides an
