The growth‐induced anisotropy K ug of Y3−ySmy Fe5−xGaxO12 films grown by liquid phase epitaxy on {111} GGG substrates is investigated. The growth rate v and not the growth temperature TG is found to be of primary importance for K ug of films grown from the same melt. The observed dependence of K ug on the samarium content y and on the growth rate v can be satisfactorily described by a model based on growth kinetics and site preference.
Die Richtungsabhangigkeit der kritischen Mikrowellenfeldstiirke wird fur die Nebenabsorption im Parallelfeld an einer Mn-Mg-Co-Ferrit-Einkristallkugel untersucht. Die experimentellen Ergebnisse konnen durch die Schlomann-Morgenthalersche Theorie unter Berucksichtigung von elliptisch polarisierten S-Magnonen, die einer magnetisch anisotropen Dispersionsbeziehung genugen, erklart werden, wenn dasKristallanisotropie-Feld raumlich fluktuiert.The orientation dependence of the critical microwave signal power is studied theoretically for the subsidiary absorption peak, in a single crystal sphere of a Rfn-Mg-Co-ferrite, in a parallel-field pumping experiment. The available experimental results can be explained by the theory of Schlomann and Morgenthaler taking into account local fluctuations of the crystal anisotropy field, which leads to a magnetically anisotropic dispersion relation for the 8-magnons.
Einleit ang SCHLOMANN [l, 21 und MORGENTHALER [3] berechneten auf der Grundlage derSpinwellen-und magnetostatischen Moden-Naherung den tiefsten, richtungsunabhangigen kritischen Amplitudenwert der Mikrowellenfeldstarke hYkkrit bei unendlicher Impulsdauer fur den Fall der Nebenresonanz mit Parallelfeldl), oberhalb dessen eine nichtlineare Mikrowellenabsorption durch starkes Anwachsen von parametrisch angeregten, instabilen Spinmoden auftritt. Dabei basiert die richtungsunabhangige Spinmoden-Instabilitat auf der elliptischen Polarisation der in parametrischer Wechselwirkung stehenden Spinmoden und wird durch den transversalen Teil der dipolaren Formanisotropie bewirkt . SCHLOMANN und MOR-GENTHALER betrachten den Kopplungsfall, daIJ durch das Mikrowellenfeld infolge parametrischer Wechselwirkung nur ein elliptisch polarisiertes, instabiles Spinmodenpaar angeregt wird,da der Beitrag von Spinmoden-Instabilitaten hoherer parametrischer Kopplungen im wesentlichen zu einer numerischen Korrektur des kritischen Amplitudenwertes fuhrt. Dabei ist der parametrische Kopplungsmechanismus innerhalb des Spinmodensystems durch den Energie-Erhaltungssatz zwischen Mikrowellenquelle und den phasenkoharenten, resonanzfahigen Spinmoden festgelegt. Die Susdrucksweise Senkrecht-bzw. Parallelfeld sol1 bedeuten, da13 einmal das Mikrowcllenfeld senkrecht bzw. parallel zum auI3eren statischen Magnetfeld liegt. 10 L zahlen k 2 -erlaubt. More precise knowledge of the growth mechanism of garnets in form of epitaxial layers or single crystals in high temperature solutions on the base of trivalent oxides Me,O, in PbO-B,O, solvent is desirable. Data of physicocheniical properties of the melts especially density, shear viscosity, and electrical conductivity and their dependence on the ternperature are useful in endeavour to recognize the structural principles of oxidic melts. Therefore as a first step the binary system PbO-Ga,O, wus investigated to understand the influence of the Ga component on a complete mixed garnet solution, for instance (Y, Sm)
Experimental detailsI n our investigation the melt consists of 15.7 mole yo Ga,O, in PbO and has a liquidus temperature of T L = 1023 K. The eutectic composition with 18.5 moleyo Ga,O, melts at T E = 1001 K (NEVRIVA, POLLERT, FISCHER 1978).The density e was measured by means of the Archimedean buoyancy method. The platinum bob in form of a double cone or a sphere was suspended with a thin wire beneath a semimicro balance. The maximum relative error was estimated t o be A @ / @ = fl%.Troubling effects as thermal expansion of the bob and the crucible or the liquid meniscus a t the immersing Pt wire have been taken into consideration.The shear viscosity coefficients 7 were measured in a cylindrical rotation viscometer a t a velocity gradient of 9 = 33 s-l with a maximum relative error of A q / q = &Byo
(SINN).The electrical conductivity x was obtained comparing the voltage drops both in a known ohmic resistance and in the resistance of the molten oxide mixture detected on the screen of a dual-trace oscilloscope and has a maximum relative error of A x / % = &?'yo. The voltage and the frequency of the alternating current a t the Pt wire electrodes amounted to U = 300 mV and f = 0.5 kHz. N o frequency dependence of resistance was observed down to 200 Hz. This is in contrast to the behaviour of other molten salts and results from a very arge series capacity in the equivalent circuit.
