The relief has continental dunes, alluvial, massive fields, low hills and backwoods depression, with the semi-arid climate, with savanna vegetation. There are no protected areas, only the Environmental Protection Area Lake Sobradinho, bordered by the San Francisco River. This study presents a small cut, analyzing only the sand dunes located in the City of New-Bahia House. This study aimed to explore the palaeoenvironments, knowing the natural and anthropogenic processes acting, scoring the social and environmental impacts and indicating conservation proposals. The methodological bases are based on the geosystemic Theory (Sotchava, 1977) and, in ecodynamic Method (Tricart, 1977), and GTP Theory (Bertrand, 1997) and the results indicate instability and high rates of degradation, being relevant the definition of sustainable development plans and geoecological conservation, ensuring better environmental management. Characteristics and environmental history of APA the dunes and paths of low-middle San Francisco (BA)This article traces the historical and environmental characterization of the APA Dunes and Paths of the Lower Middle São Francisco, aiming to discuss general aspects of the existing fields of quaternary dunes in Brazil and especially in the aforementioned APA, besides bringing to debate the types of dunes found in the region, the socio-historical process of the area and the main existing anthropogenic impacts in the study area. The dunes are located in the ecoregion San Francisco Dunes, it is the State Government responsibility, through Decree n. 6547 of 18 July 1997 and has an area of 1.085.000.00 hectares. The occupation process in Brazil is characterized by total lack of planning and the massive destruction of natural resources, represented by the various biomass, thus causing a range of environmental problems, for example, the extinction of flora and fauna, local climate change, siltation of waterways, soil erosion and weakening of paleo-ecosystems, like the river dunes in the study, bordering the S...
Among the products that can generate consequences to the environment is the residues of vegetable oils, generated daily in the preparation (fried) of food. The lack of information and knowledge on the part of establishments, industries and people, causes many to dispose improperly. Starting from the initial assumptions, this research originated from the discussions in the discipline of waste management of the higher course of food Technology of the Federal Institute of Sertão Pernambucano -Petrolina campus, and had as objective to make a brief Analysis, on how is the knowledge of the employees of the institution about the themes "waste management", "recycling" and "environmental conservation" and the real importance of formal and non -formal environmental education, aiming to bring sensitization Environment for the internal sectors of the Higher Education Institution (HEI), enabling a prior knowledge of the risks caused to nature and humanity, with actions inadequate to the environmental. This is an applied, quantitative-qualitative, exploratory and field nature, where data collection was obtained from the on-site visit, questionnaire application and systematic observation. Therefore, the results of the research showed that in the sectors surveyed people are aware of the consequences caused by oil residues, where they affirm that they give the correct destination in the form of waste recycling.
