Abstract: A pantheon of prostitutes, adulterers, nymphs and lesbians of all kinds has been used in the erotic literature. There's a transgressive tone in this type of narrative that in recent Brazilian history has been taken as an affront to the imposition of a rigid moral from the part of the military that were in power. Considered as one of the writers who most evidenced lesbian protagonists in the Brazilian literature, Cassandra Rios has a vast work disregarded by the canonical critique, which relegated it to the subliterature status. Another part of the critic sees her works propagating a moralistic discourse about female homoafetivity. The consensus of criticism lies only in the fact that her work is full of erotic and / or pornographic elements. Due to the great production of the author, the focus of this work will be on the publications ranging from 1964 to 1985, when the Brazilian state suffered a military coup, which culminated in political and social changes that interfered in the national artistic and intellectual production. The present article intends to discuss how Cassandra Rios, through an apparently popular discourse, managed to bring to a large number of readers questions about the subjectivity of a portion of the population stigmatized during a time of rigid censorship of literary production. Keywords: lesbian homoafetivity, mass literature, military dictatorship.
