Objetivo: Investigar o estado nutricional das crianças com autismo e verificar sua associação com o estilo de vida dos infantis. Métodos: Participaram 43 crianças com autismo em reabilitação no Centro Integrado de Reabilitação localizado no município de Teresina, Piauí, Brasil, de ambos os sexos, com idade entre 2 e 10 anos. Foi realizada entrevista com os pais por meio de um questionário contendo dados sociodemográficos e de hábitos de vida e feita antropometria das crianças. Resultados: Em relação ao estado nutricional verificou-se a prevalência de infantis eutróficos (55,6%) e obesos (23,3%). Constatou-se associação significativa entre problemas intestinas e estado nutricional (p=0,013), porém não foi possível verificar associação significante do estado nutricional com medicamentos (p= 0,720) e atividade física (p= 1,000). Conclusão: Apesar da importância do excesso de peso e suas implicações na saúde das crianças, verificou-se que na literatura existe ainda uma escassez de estudos mostrando a associação do estado nutricional com esses fatores.
