The objective of this study is to determine the changes at ports and to reveal the relationship between these changes and port effectiveness. A survey study with a sample of 51 ports in Turkey was carried out. Factor analysis was used for grouping organisational change implementations. Mann-Whitney U tests, correlation and regression analyses were used for hypothesis testing. As a consequence; perceptions regarding organisational change implementations and effectiveness measures were compared according to port characteristics and the causal relationships between organisational change and effectiveness variables were determined within the context of value chain systems. Customers demand new services due to a dynamic and complex business environment. Innovation is a response to these challenges in various industries. Logistics service providers are under great pressure to be innovative due to their changing business environment and customer demands. Logistics innovation can be considered service innovations triggered by technological innovations. Service innovation should be examined with a service-dominant logic perspective by considering properties of services. Service-dominant logic as an evolving view in marketing highlights the importance of value co-creation, relationships, processes, and operant resources in the service exchanges of the organizations. In this chapter, important determinants related to logistics innovation are derived by a comprehensive literature review. Furthermore, a conceptual model of logistics innovation within a service-dominant logic perspective is established. This study is novel in that it focuses on the unexplored research of logistics innovation from the perspective of service-dominant logic by taking a holistic approach integrating technology, knowledge, and relationship orientation concepts with value co-creation.
The global marketplace is characterized by various changes taking place in social, economic, natural, and technological areas. As these changes occur both at the organizational and market levels, innovations act as the main processes that accelerate the adaptation of these changes to the services/products of the organizations. Considering the involvement of many stakeholders and the partners within the dynamic business environment of the organizations, an increasing need for the cooperation and the coordination of such actors in the development of service innovations is observed. As topical research areas of both the marketing and management disciplines, this chapter focuses on discovering the relationship between market orientation and the open innovation by pursuing a grounded theory methodology in combination with a specific case study of a leading container shipping company. The originality of the research lies on the investigation of the unexplored research field of open innovation from the perspective of the grounded theory methodology as well as the generation of an emergent theory by the use of an inductive approach.

For decades, existing in male-dominated industries has not been easy for women. At seaports, as a male-dominated sub-industry of maritime, the industrial operators and the freight handlers employ significantly more men than women both in the office and the yard. Listening to women's stories of beginning a job in ports is important to increase their presence in ports. For this reason, this study aims to investigate narratives of women employees about their feelings and experiences at the job interview process in the ports. Narrative analysis was used in this study. According to the results, most of the participants preferred the port sector consciously. Although most of the participants had a positive job interview process, they had some worries before job application. It is hoped this research contributes to the port business both scientifically and practically by revealing the experiences of women employees in job interview processes in ports.
