Cet article revient sur la question de la réification telle qu’elle a été ré-élaborée dans le cadre de la reformulation récente de la théorie de la reconnaissance d’Axel Honneth. Il examine en premier lieu l’approfondissement du concept de reconnaissance originaire proposé par Honneth en en discutant certaines difficultés ; il analyse la définition du concept de réification en montrant laquelle parmi ses différentes définitions possibles se révèle la plus appropriée pour la théorie de la reconnaissance ; il offre enfin une perspective plus précise que celle de Honneth dans l’analyse des processus sociaux qui conduisent aux attitudes réifiantes en croisant les concepts de reconnaissance, d’empathie et de réification.
