Este ensaio teórico objetiva refletir sobre as Práticas Integrativas e Complementares (PICS) como possibilidade de cuidado em saúde mental. Para tanto, expõe-se dados sobre a saúde mental na atualidade, define-se as PICS e se discute sua relevância no âmbito da saúde mental. Percebe-se que, no decorrer das últimas décadas, houve um aumento na prevalência de agravos à saúde mental na população brasileira e este cenário tem se agravado diante da pandemia da Covid-19. Frente a isso, torna-se urgente pensar estratégias de cuidado em saúde mental a fim de reduzir os sintomas e aumentar o bem-estar. Nesse sentido, defende-se as PICS como fonte de cuidado e possibilidade de melhoria da qualidade de vida. Conclui-se que aromaterapia, homeopatia, medicina antroposófica, medicina tradicional chinesa e acupuntura, plantas medicinais e fitoterapia, termalismo social ou crenoterapia e yoga apresentam resultados positivos na saúde mental daqueles/as que as praticam, como redução de sintomas, melhora do sono e aumento de bem-estar e qualidade de vida.
