A condutividade hidráulica tem influência sobre a capacidade do solo de permitir o fluxo de água através de seus poros alterando seu teor de umidade e por conseguinte seu desempenho mecânico uma vez que influencia o seu módulo resiliente. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo principal avaliar a condutividade hidráulica de dois solos tropicais distintos com vistas a verificar a viabilidade do seu emprego na camada de sublastro da plataforma ferroviária. As amostras foram coletadas ao longo da EFC objetivando analisar a sua aplicabilidade como camada de pavimento ferroviário As curvas de condutividade hidráulica, obtidas no HYPROP a partir da curva de retenção ajustada pelo modelo de Fredlung-Xing bimodal, indicaram uma condutividade de 4,6.10-6 cm/s na saturação e 1,2. 10-7 cm/s na umidade ótima para a amostra 1, considerada baixa para solos arenosos. As curvas da amostra 2, ajustadas pelo modelo de Fredlung-Xing unimodal, indicaram um valor de 1,2.10-6 cm/s para a condutividade de saturação e de 3,6. 10-8 cm/s no teor ótimo, considerado baixo para solos arenosos. Nesse caso o modelo teve um ajuste satisfatório para a curva de condutividade. Antes do ajuste o HYPROP indicou uma condutividade de 8,5. 10-6 cm/s, mais adequada para o material. Logo pode-se constatar que o modelo não ofereceu um bom ajuste. A amostra 1 apresentou mais baixa permeabilidade.
Neste estudo verificou-se a influência da variação da umidade no valor de módulo resiliente, para solos de subleito de ferrovia do corredor sudeste da Ferrovia Centro-Atlântica (FCA). Foram abertas trincheiras para identificação das camadas do pavimento, realizar ensaios com equipamento Light Weigth Deflectometer (LWD) para determinação do módulo de elasticidade in situ do lastro e lastro degradado e coletar materiais do subleito, para realização de ensaios triaxiais de cargas repetidas. Realizaram-se simulações numéricas do comportamento estrutural da plataforma ferroviária, com auxílio do programa SysTrain, de modo a verificar a influência da umidade do subleito no comportamento a estrutura do pavimento ferroviário. Foi constatado que nas condições de umidade do subleito acima da ótima, o módulo resiliente diminui significativamente para o solo estudado, e a simulação numérica indicou, nestas condições, aumento do deslocamento elástico total da via, fato que pode contribuir para o descarilhamento da composição.
