The rupestrian settlements in Cappadocia are well known for their richness and very articulated shapes, but, at the same time, they are a clear sample of Patrimony at risk, the assets of Cappadocia today appears intended for a broad loss, in certain parts the rupestrian monuments are well preserved, in other parts they are abandoned or overloaded by admiring tourists, this whole patrimony appears only partially preservable, and therefore it is even more exceptional in its very late phase. Most of the rupestrian churches in Cappadocia has mural paintings which survived to centuries of improper usages and abandon, environmental menaces, vandals, some of these churches are quite simple but others are connected to very complex architectural systems and they still represent the meaning of that places at the time of their construction. This research it's part of the result of the 2012 campaign of the Tuscia University research mission "Rock painting in Cappadocia. For a project of knowledge, conservation and enhancement" 2012 and of an actual PRIN (Italian National Relevance Research Projects), this paper it's aimed to two very meaningful examples of these rupestrian conditions, the St. Eustache church and the Meryemana church, both located in the Göreme area, out of the Open Air Museum, they are two interesting cases testifying the specific condition of this patrimony for which a documentation, investigation, preservation and valorization project is under development. The first "on the field" common activities between the UNIFI and 81,786 XQLWV WRRN SODFH LQ WKH ODUJH DUHD DW WKH EDFN RI WKH 7RNDOÕ Kilise, starting from the front of this meaningful monument. In this first meaningful collaboration the creation of 3D digital models, starting from an accurate digital survey, is aimed to display the paintings in the excavated churches that host them, allowing a deeper and clearer knowledge of the rupestrian habitat in all its components. It will be also very useful for the realization of innovative instruments of fruition, suitable for a presentation of the rock monuments and pictorial decorations, in a scientifically correct way and diversified according to different communication levels: virtual
This paper presents research on the historic urban settlement and natural landscape between the Göreme and Kiliclar (Swords) The study area has all the features of rupestrian Mediterranean culture, encompassing a heritage developed over time with environmental, architectural and artistic elements. It tells a special story about ancient life, completing and widening our comprehension of the past. There are buildings of great architectural and pictorial qualities, such as the Tokali Kilise, Saint Eustachius and Saint Daniel, where it is still possible to read the old defensive system and the local way of life. Yet these cave settlements are at risk from deterioration. The research is centred on survey, especially on a digital survey carried out using 3D laser scanners for the architecture as well as of the natural stone structure of the settlement. In this way the first complete and detailed documentation of this area has been created, allowing the first studies on the urban character of this archaeological site. The research presented here will show a fully digital approach using 3D digital models aimed to investigate, read, preserve the information and disseminate the artistic and cultural values otherwise not easily accessible and continuously at risk of loss because of decay processes.
Parole chiaveGuarino Guarini, archeo-astronomia, iconografia-architettura, rappresentazione; patrimonio culturale.
Abstract. The work supports the research on rocky settlements in the Mediterranean area and their diffusion. In particular, it provides the Valencian Community and the Municipality of Bocairente with the two-three-dimensional graphic documentation of the monument "Cuevas de Los Moros", apparently poor, which is the driving factor of the cultural economy of the country. The documentation created is a useful interdisciplinary tool for in-depth analysis of the place through historical, archaeological, and economic studies. The work has scientific rigor due to the methodically tackling data acquisition. It integrates the traditional instrumental survey, double-decametre, and level with photographic documentation and SFM processing. Furthermore, one of the objectives is to disseminate a correct methodological approach to documenting cultural heritage. The aim is to share and allocate among culturally motivated amateur operators to increase the documentation of a cultural heritage, which due to its widespread extension and apparent poverty, does not receive the necessary attention for promotion and conservation by the bodies responsible for the control of cultural heritage. Rock dwelling and its environmental system, as well as its rock-cut monuments, are recognized by Unesco.
Caso clinico.
