En México una de las principales fuentes de abastecimiento del riego agrícola es el agua subterránea, irrigando aproximadamente dos millones de hectáreas, aporta 75% del volumen de agua en zonas rurales y urbanas a nivel nacional. Estos recursos hídricos se han visto afectados por contaminantes provenientes de desechos industriales y residuales, así como el lixiviado de sustancias químicas en suelos agrícolas. Con la f inalidad de evaluar las características f isicoquímicas de las aguas subterráneas, se realizó el presente estudio en Zacoalco de Torres y Autlán de Navarro. Se realizaron muestreos en la temporada seca y lluviosa en 2017. Los sitios de muestreo fueron pozos profundos y norias. En total se obtuvieron 48 muestras correspondientes a las dos estaciones; en cada muestra se analizaron pH, aniones y cationes, conductividad eléctrica (CE), carbonato de sodio residual (CSR), relación de adsorción de sodio (RAS), así como la clasif icación hidrogeoquímica. Las aguas subterráneas de Zacoalco son en su mayoría aguas cloradas-magnésicas y en Autlán bicarbonatadas-magnésicas, con concentraciones medias y bajas, por lo que se consideran recomendables para el riego. Con respecto a la salinidad Zacoalco presenta 40% aguas de alta salinidad en secas y 66% aguas de media salinidad en lluvias; Autlán presenta 75% aguas de alta salinidad en secas, y en lluvias 75% aguas de media salinidad, por lo que su uso presenta restricciones moderadas.
La cuenca del río Ayuquila-Armería se encuentra dentro de la clasificación de cuencas prioritarias de México, dada su alta diversidad y por su alto grado de alteración de la dinámica funcional y los niveles de presión social que presenta, por ende, es necesario realizar un análisis de la calidad del agua dentro de la cuenca. El objetivo fue evaluar la contaminación orgánica, realizando dos campañas de muestreo en la temporada lluviosa (2015) y seca (2016), en 18 sitios de la cuenca. Se implemento el análisis integral de variables físicoquímicas y biológicas. El 90 % de los sitios presento eutrofización dadas las concentraciones de PTotal, el 77 % superó el límite permisible para las concentraciones de NTotal; el IIB evidencio que el 19 % de los sitios presenta un alto grado de contaminación orgánica; en la temporada lluviosa se encontraron las mayores concentraciones de UFC (18 a 190 UFC/mL) y un 50 % de los sitios superó el límite permisible (10 UFC/mL). La influencia de los afluentes tributarios al cauce principal aumenta drásticamente en la temporada de lluvias, este incrementa los caudales y empobrece la calidad del agua superficial por el arrastre de contaminantes desde las zonas rurales y urbanas
De la base de datos de 34 años de las 92 estaciones distribuidas en la región Sierra de Amula en el estado de Jalisco–México se estimaron los datos mensuales faltantes de precipitación y temperatura a través de los métodos de media aritmética, regresión lineal simple y la técnica de la U.S. National Weather Service. La estimación de la consistencia y homogeneidad de esta base se realizó a través del análisis de doble masa, t de Student y Cramer, procesados mediante los Sistemas de Información Geográfica. Se rellenaron datos faltantes de hasta 36,036 para precipitación y 9,730 para temperatura, se presentaron errores de consistencia de los datos de precipitación en 10 meses, a excepción de julio y agosto, con una R2=0.99 (α=0.05); para la temperatura fue de R2=1 y una predicción y confianza al 100%. Se encontraron valores de t de Student y Cramer inferiores a 1.56, situación que determina homogeneidad y calidad (R2=0.99). El mejor método para interpolar la precipitación fue polynomial interpolation, para temperatura fue J-Bessel con una confiabilidad cercana a 100%.
Se reportan registros adicionales del carrao (Aramus guarauna) para el interior del Estado de Jalisco, México. Esta información, en conjunto con la previa conocida, apoya la idea que dice que la distribución de la especie podría está relacionada con la del caracol (Pomacea flagellata, Gastropoda: Ampullaridae) que le sirve de alimento.
