Our results indicate that F-18 FDG-PET/CT is a useful diagnostic tool in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma and with negative I-131 total body scans and high Tg levels. The levothyroxine therapy regimen does not influence F-18 FDG-PET/CT results and the rate of F-18 FDG-PET/CT positive results appears to correlate with the Tg levels. The highest accuracy is reached when the study is performed for patients with Tg levels higher than 21 ng/mL.
In DTC with DM, loss of RAI uptake has an important role in survival. No significant difference in survival outcome was discovered between SDM and MDM; but, among SDM, pre-RAIT had significant shorter DSS than baseline-RAIT.
In interventional cardiology (IC) staff can be exposed to high dose levels due to the long fluoroscopy procedures performed. Staff dosimetry can yield information on the optimisation level of radiation protection, which is influenced by the equipment performance, auxiliary protection devices, training in radiation protection and procedure complexity. Staff exposure data assessed in haemodynamic laboratories of four hospitals in Spain, Greece and Italy participating in the DIMOND concerted action are analysed and compared with data in the literature.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
