The Duano Tribe are fishermen that run fishing businesses traditionally. Generally, they use longlines and drift gill nets equipment for fishing. The purpose of this research is to analyze the income of fishermen that use longlines and drift gill nets based on the main catch of Belanak and Senangin fish and the contribution of fishing business income to the total fisherman income. The descriptive method that the author used to analyze where data were collected from 29 fishermen of Duano Tribe. This research was conducted in Tanjung Pasir village, Indragiri Hilir, Riau, in May 2021. The result shows that the average fishing income of Duano Tribe that use longlines is IDR.51,782,948.-year-1 and the average fishing income of Duano Tribe that uses drift gill nets is IDR.26,931,235.-year-1. The income of the Duano tribe using longlines is higher than drift gill nets, even with the same average duration of fishing. The contribution of income using longlines to the income of the Duano Tribe fishermen is 85 percent, and the contribution of income using drift gill nets to the income of the Duano Tribe fishermen is 78 percent. The income contribution using longline is higher than the income contribution using drift gill nets. Based on the contribution criteria, both income from fishing with drift gill nets and longlines provide a high contribution.
HDI of fisherman communities is an important indicator to measure the success of developing the quality of life of fisherman communities. HDI is used to see the development of fisherman communities in the long term. This research was conducted in May-August 2021 in Ransang Island, Meranti Islands Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia. This study used a survey method, the sampling method was carried out by multi-stage cluster sampling as many as 40 fisherman spread over several sub-districts. Data analysis for determining HDI is calculated based on the geometric mean of the health index, knowledge index and expenditure index which refers to the UNDP calculation model. The HDI value of the fisherman community of Ransang Island in 2020 was 57.83. The HDI value is composed of a Health Index of 75,08; Education Index of 62,57; and the Expenditure Index of 45,88. The value of the health index is influenced by child mortality. The low Education Index is caused by accessibility, facilities and infrastructure constraints and costs. The expenditure index value is influenced by low productivity, one of which is the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. HDI of fisherman communities is an important indicator to measure the success of developing the quality of life of fisheries communities. HDI is used to see the development of fisheries communities in the long term.
Efficiency is an important aspect that can be used as a benchmark for making decisions in production with various available production input alternatives. Knowing efficiency both technically and economically will reduce the gap between productivity that should be produced. Efficiency is used as an indicator in seeing the ability of the production unit in the fishing business, to know the potential for production inputs it is necessary to analyze its efficiency both technically and economically as well as its development potential. So this research was conducted to see how the efficiency of the dominant fishing gear used by fishermen in Tanah Merah District is technically by looking at the factors that affect fishing production and its financial feasibility. This study uses a quantitative descriptive analysis with a survey method approach and uses an analysis of technical efficiency and financial feasibility. The results showed that the technical efficiency of the capture fisheries business using drift nets by looking at the Cobb-Douglas production function showed a VRS value of 1.185 > 1, which means that it is in the increasing return to scale category where the percentage increase in production is greater for the addition of production factors so that the use of production factors is technically efficient. . Based on the results of the financial feasibility analysis it was concluded that the fishing business using drift nets is feasible to be cultivated in terms of financial parameters in the form of R/C ratio, PPC and ROI.
This study analyzes the behavior of pepper exports, consisting of black pepper and white pepper, to various destination countries. The results of this study showed that black pepper exports affected by the destination country's gross domestic product (GDP), the price of white pepper, the population of the country of destination and the exchange rate against the dollar. Meanwhile, white pepper exports affected by the destination country's GDP, the population of the country of destination, the price of black pepper, white pepper prices and the exchange rate against the dollar. The results also showed that black pepper and white pepper are not mutually substituted.
