A new approach for power modeling of transversal filters based on a physically oriented design is presented. The approach is based on algebraic models fitted by correction functions which are determined from the distribution of the simulated, actual switching activity within filter macros. With these functions even the dependency of the power models on input switching activities and statistical distribution of input signals becomes feasible. With the continuous progress in CMOS technology such accurate and parameterizahle power models become more and more important especially in an early system design step.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
