Objetivo: Analisar as repercussões da pandemia de Sars-Cov-2 no número de coletas de material citopatológico de colo de útero no Brasil. Métodos: Estudo retrospectivo, transversal, a partir da plataforma DATASUS, os dados coletados correspondem ao período entre janeiro de 2019 a dezembro de 2020. Foi analisado o número de coletas de exame de Papanicolaou por unidade da federação, percentuais relativos dos estados e das regiões sociodemográficas do Brasil. O impacto da COVID-19 no número de procedimentos realizados pelo Sistema Único de Saúde em 2020 foi mensurado estatisticamente pela comparação com o ano de 2019 por meio do teste não paramétrico Wilcoxon Signed Rank (α=0,01). Resultados: Observou-se queda de 67% (p<0,001) na realização do procedimento em todo o território nacional. Todas as macrorregiões do Brasil foram afetadas sendo a Sul com o menor impacto observado, declínio em 38% (p<0,001). As demais macrorregiões apresentaram quedas superiores a 50% (p<0,001). Não houve correlação estatística entre as coletas de citopatológico e o número de casos COVID-19 por 100 mil habitantes nos estados. Conclusão: A pandemia de COVID-19 reduziu estatisticamente o número de ações relacionadas ao exame Papanicolaou e possivelmente a identificação das lesões precursoras ou relacionadas ao câncer cervical em 2020.

Objetivo: O aleitamento materno exclusivo (AME) constitui a melhor alternativa nutricional para a manutenção da saúde do recém-nascido, devido aos fatores bioativos presentes no leite materno e ao “imprinting metabólico”. Objetivou-se, com esse estudo, demonstrar os benefícios do AME na prevenção do sobrepeso em lactentes no primeiro semestre de vida, evidenciando os riscos da obesidade infantil. Metodologia: Realizou-se um estudo ecológico, descritivo e epidemiológico, sobre a prevalência do AME em menores de 6 meses nas cinco regiões brasileiras entre 2015 e 2019, através de dados registrados no Sistema de Vigilância Alimentar e Nutricional (SISVAN), apresentados em tabelas e gráficos. Resultados: A prevalência da nutrição exclusiva do leite materno em menores de 6 meses registrou taxas inferiores no Nordeste no período avaliado e observou-se redução nos valores na análise, sendo o maior decréscimo no Norte. Entretanto, essa região permaneceu com as melhores taxas registradas em 2019. Notabilizou-se, ainda, que o aleitamento materno tem importante efeito protetivo e redutor de morbimortalidade infantil, como a redução de diarreia infantil em 25 vezes. Observou-se que a ausência do AME provocou a elevação da média da PAS em 1,39 mmHg, da PAD em 0,79 mmHg e dos triglicérides quando comparados a crianças que tiveram a aleitação adequada. Ademais, a obesidade mostrou-se reduzida em 22% dos infantes que receberam o AME, evitando possíveis doenças vasculares, bem como embolias e tromboses subsequentes. Conclusão: Observa-se a importância da estimulação dessa forma nutricional até o sexto mês através de políticas públicas e privadas de saúde.
