HighlightsXantogranulomatous pyelonephritis (XGPN) is a rare chronic inflammatory disease of the kidney.The focal form imitates greatly renal cell carcinoma (RCC).We report a challenging clinical case of a 38-year old with lack of history of stone disease or urinary tract infection.Preoperative diagnosis of focal XGPN was difficult because of radiological similarities to RCC.An open right radical nephrectomy including the adrenal in the resection was performed and final histology revealed a focal renal mass which consist with a xantogranulomatous pyelonephritis.
Varicocele is among the most common causes of male infertility. It is also one of the most controversial issues in the field of Andrology, especially regarding why, when and to whom varicocelectomy should be applied. Many experts believe that the surgical repair of varicocele should be applied only in a meticulously selected group of infertile men, although there are no generally accepted criteria. Up to now, the only confirmed prognostic factor for achievement of pregnancy after varicocelectomy is the age of the female partner. We perform a retrospective study that collected 120 patients over 7 years between 2010-2017 in urological department at the Military Hospital Moulay Ismail in Meknes, Morocco, to evaluate the issues currently associated with varicocele treatment in infertile men.
Urinary stones are a common problem with increasing incidence, but giant ones leading to severe complications are rare nowadays. We report here a historic case of panurinary stone filling almost all urinary cavities and incidentally discovered by a life-threatening sepsis and acute renal dysfunction.
