Objective: To estimate the incidence, mortality and lethality rates of COVID-19 among Indigenous Peoples in the Brazilian Amazon. Additionally, to analyze how external threats can contribute to spread the disease in Indigenous Lands (IL).Methods: The Brazilian Amazon is home to nearly half a million Indigenous persons, representing more than 170 ethnic groups. As a pioneer in heading Indigenous community-based surveillance (I-CBS) in Brazil, the Coordination of the Indigenous Organizations of the Brazilian Amazon (COIAB) started to monitor Indigenous COVID-19 cases in March of 2020. Brazil's Ministry of Health (MOH) was the main source of data regarding non-Indigenous cases and deaths; to contrast the government's tally, we used the information collected by I-CBS covering 25 Special Indigenous Sanitary Districts (DSEI) in the Brazilian Amazon. The incidence and mortality rates of COVID-19 were calculated using the total number of new cases and deaths accumulated between the 9th and 40th epidemiological weeks. We studied (a) the availability of health care facilities to attend to Indigenous Peoples; (b) illegal mines, land grabbing, and deforestation to perform a geospatial analysis to assess how external threats affect Indigenous incidence and mortality rates. We used the Generalized Linear Model (GLM) with Poisson regression to show the results. Results: MOH registered 22,127 cases and 330 deaths, while COIAB's survey recorded 25,356 confirmed cases and 670 deaths, indicating an under-reporting of 14 and 103%, respectively. Likewise, the incidence and mortality rates were 136 and 110% higher among Indigenous when compared with the national average. In terms of mortality, the most critical DSEIs were Alto Rio Solimões, Cuiabá, Xavante, Vilhena and Kaiapó do Pará. The GLM model reveals a direct correlation between deforestation, land grabbing and mining, and the incidence of cases among the Indigenous. Conclusion: Through this investigation it was possible to verify that not only the incidence and mortality rates due to COVID-19 among Indigenous Peoples are higher than those observed in the general population, but also that the data presented by the federal government are underreported. Additionally, it was evident that the presence of illegal economic activities increased the risk of spreading COVID-19 in ILs.
In this work we analyze hydrostatic equilibrium configurations of neutron stars in a non-minimal geometrymatter coupling (GMC) theory of gravity. We begin with the derivation of the hydrostatic equilibrium equations for the f (R, L) gravity theory, where R and L are the Ricci scalar and Lagrangian of matter, respectively. We assume f (R, L) = R/2 + [1 + σ R]L, with σ constant. To describe matter inside neutron stars we assume a relativistic polytropic equation of state p = Kρ γ , with ρ being the energy density, K and γ = 5/3 being constants. We also consider the more realistic equation of state (EoS) known as SLy4, which is a Skyrme type one based on effective nuclear interaction. We show that in this theory it is possible to reach the mass of massive pulsars, such as PSR J2215 + 5135, for both equations of state. Also, results for mass-radius relation in GMC gravity are strongly dependent on the stiffness of the EoS.

This paper investigates the contributions of data analysis software in qualitative researches. We construct a cosmological model from the inception of the Friedmann-Lemâitre-Robertson-Walker metric into the field equations of the f (R, L m ) gravity theory, with R being the Ricci scalar and L m being the matter lagrangian density. The formalism is developed for a particular f (R, L m ) function, namely R/16π + (1 + σR)L m , with σ being a constant that carries the geometry-matter coupling. Our solutions are remarkably capable of evading the Big-Bang singularity as well as predict the cosmic acceleration with no need for the cosmological constant, but simply as a consequence of the geometry-matter coupling terms in the Friedmann-like equations.
AbstractFrom the advance of digital information technologies, books have undergone several transformations, including in its scope innumerable possibilities. However, in this universe the text is still one of the main ways of transmitting information. Responsible for composing and configuring texts, typography is considered an essential element of publications. Thus, it is evident that the design of digital books requires adjustments in the presentation of texts to ensure the quality of reading. This, because the compositions in words, sentences and paragraphs can significantly alter their understanding. In this way, the present paper had as objective to identify typography application aspects in digital books. Therefore, it carried out an integrative literature review. Thus, it was possible to understand approaches regarding typography in the digital medium. As a result, it was possible to systematize the typography application aspects and organized them in four groups by similarity.
