Die ebene metrische Georrzetrie kann wie folgt als spezielle Gru ppentheorie betrachtet werden : Die ebenen Bewegungen bzw. Kongruenza bbilduiigen bilden niit dem Nacheinanderausfuhren als Verknupfung eine Gruppe G, die von eineiii System von Elementen der Ordnung 2 , nainlich von der Jlcrige S der Spiegelungen an den Geraden, erzeugt wird. Die Gruppenelemente der Ordnung 2 , die beim gruppentheoretischen Aufbau der Geonietrie eine besondere Rolle spielen, werden im geometrischen Sprachgebrauch iizvolutorisch genannt. Keiin axiomatischen Aufbau der ebenen iiietrischeri Geometrie kann man vori eiiiem Paar [G, S] ausgehw, wobei G eine Gruppe und S ein aus involutorischen Elementen bestt heiides Erzeugeiidensystem ist. Begriffe wie Puiikt, Inzidenz und Ort hogonalitat lassen sich dann definieren. Grundlage der Definitionen ist eine mit I bezeichnete Relation, die durch (*I a j b G+ a, b, a b involutorisch gekennzeichnet ist. Rlit Hilfe einiger Axionie uber die involutorischen Gruppenelemente kaiin die ebene inetrische Geometrie aufgebmt werden.Diesbezuglich sei auf die Monographie [4] von BACHMANN verwiesen, diewie den1 Vorwort des Herausgebers der russischen Ausgsbe zu eiitnehinen ist -bald in uberarbeiteter und erweiterter Form erscheinen w d .Neben der ebeneri metrischen Geometrie sind aridere geometrische Theorien aus dem Spiegelungsbegriff aufgebaut worden ; hieruber gibt das Literaturverzeichnis eine Auskunft. I n der vorliegenden Arbeit werden Ergebnisse mitgeteilt, die zum groIJen Teil in [I21 enthalten sind. Neben den dort betrachteten gruppentheoretischen Axiomen. die teilweise Verallgenieinerungen der Axiome in [4] darstellen, werden hier wei1,ere Axionie in ihrer Beziehung zu den anderen Axioiiien betrachtet. Insbesondere kann cine neue Charakterisierung der Gruppen der ebenen iiquiaffinen Abbildungen angegeben werden ; dabei werden aquiaffine Abbildungen nicht nur in
PSEUDOEUKLIDISCHE RBUME I M AUFBAU DER GEOMXTRIE AUS DEM SPIEGELTJNGSBEGRIFF von BENNO KLOTZEK in Potsdam und RUDOLF OTTENBERG in Berlin (DDR) Einleitung Hier betrachten wir einen vierdimensionalen pseudoeuklidischen Raum zunachst als vierdimensionalen affinen Raum iiber einem Korper von einer Charakteristik += 2, in dem eine symmetrische Bilinearform q~ uber dem zugehorigen Vektorraum V mit den Eigenschaf ten eine Metrik bestimmt. Dagegen machen wir keine Voraussetzungen beziiglich Anordnung oder gar Stetigkeit. Unterraume U , deren zugehorige Vektorraume V ( U ) ebenfalls (1) erfiillen, heiBen unisotrop; an ihnen kann derart gespiegelt werden, dal3 U punktweise und V ( U ) l := {z E V : ~( z , y) = O fur alle y E V> als Ganzes festbleiben. Sind u, u' Spiegelungen an anisotropen Unterraumen, dann wird ulu' :o cr, cr', cru' involutorisch (von der Ordnung 2) gesetzt. Fur die Interpretation des Axiomensystems in 1. sind folgende Aussagen bedeutsam: Ist G Xpiegelung an einem k-dimensionalen Unterraum U , dann gibt es 4-k anisotrope Hyperebenen H , , so dap die Spiegelungen daran paarweise in der Relation I stehen und ihr Produkt 6 darstellt; dabei gilt U = n H , . Dariiber hinaus erxeugt die Menge der Spiegelungen a n den anisotropen Hyperebenen die gesumte Bewegungsgruppe des betrachteten Raumes. Davon gehen wir insbesondere bei der Formulierung des gruppentheoretischen Axiomensystems in 1. aus. In [Sl] wurde die pseudoeuklidische Ebene, dort minkowskische Ebene genannt, aus dem Spiegelungsbegriff sufgebaut ; weitere Beitrage zur ebenen pseudoeuklidischen Geome6rie sind in [9], [ll], [12] und in [18] enthalten. Um die vierdimensionale pseudoeuklidische Geometrie aus dem Spiegelungsbegriff aufzubauen, wurde in 117 ] ein gruppentheoretisches Axiomensystem aufgestellt, das durch [21], [8] und [lo] angeregt wurde. In [17] konnte auch die affine Struktur zuruckgewonnen werden, jedoch fehlte dort noch die Ruckgewinnung der Metrik. Das ist im wesentlichen in [7] enthalten. Danach charakterisiert das Axiomensystem in [17] die pseudoeuklidischen Raume, fur die Ind V = 1 ist; jedoch 1&Bt sich die Formenmatrix entgegen der Vermutung in [17] 1 10 Ztschr. f. math. Loglk spricht, naher zu untersuchen.Unsere Vermutung, daB mit dem Aufbau der v i e r dimensionalen pseudoeuklidischen Geometrie aus Spiegelungsbegriff wesentliche Fortschritte bei der Losung der entsprechenden Aufgabe fur beliebige endlich bzw. unendlichl) dimensionale pseudoeuklidische Raume geleistet wurde, scheint sich zu bestatigen (vgl. 1241). Nach der FuBnote auf der Seite 342 in [2] hat sich auch WOLFF mit dieser Problematik befa&; da unsere Bemiihungen, diesbeziigliche Arbeiten zu erlialten, erfolglos geblieben sind, konnen wir nichts Naheres dariiber mitteilen.
EinleitungNachdem u. a. dureh HILBERT, HESSENBERG und HJELMSLEV (orthogonale) Spiegelungen beim Aufbau gewisser geometrischer Theorien benutzt wurden, wuchs die Erkenntnis von der grundlegenden Bedeutung der Bewegungen und der Spiegelungen beim Aufbau der klassischen euklidischen und nichteuklidischen Geometrien. Hohepunkt dieser Entwicklung ist der Aufbau der Geometrie aus dem Spiegelungsbegriff, bei dem von einer Gruppe und einem aus involutorischen Elementen bestehenden Erzeugendensystem, die als Gruppe der Bewegungen und Menge der Spiegelungen an Geraden in einer klassischen euklidischen oder nichteuklidischen Geometrie der Ebene interpretiert werden konnen, ausgegangen wird. Diesbezuglich seien nur G. THOMSEN, A. SCHMIDT und F. BACHMANN genannt.Die Anzahl der Bearbeiter und Veroffentlichungen ist bezuglich der Theorie der metrischen Ebenen groB (einige Arbeiten sind im Literaturverzeichnis aufgefuhrt !). Neben den Beitriigen zur Theorie der metrischeii Ebenen gibt es Arbeiten, in denen Verallgemeinerungen hinsichtlich der Dimension (vgl. [I]) bzw. hinsichtlich des Bewegungsbegriffes (vgl. [6], [la], [25]) behandelt werden. I m letzten Abschnitt von [I41 wurde es als wunschenswert bezeichnet, einen Aufbau der Geometrie aus dem Spiegelungsbegriff so vorzunehmen, da13 die Dimension nicht von vornherein festgelegt wird. Damit sol1 die Spiegelungsgeometrie fur die Riiume erschlossen werden, die in den Anwendungen auBerhalb der Geometrie (etwa in der theoretischen Physik) bedeutsam sind. Die vorliegende Arbeit dient dem genannten Ziel. DaB sogar die affine (und nicht erst die iiquiaffine) Geometrie der gruppentheoretischen Axiomatik im Sinne der Spiegelungsgeometrie zuganglich ist, kann als uberraschendes Ergebnis aufgefal3t werden. Im Teil I wird zunachst jedoch ein System von Inzidenzaxiomen vorgelegt, da auf seiner Grundlage Spiegelungen in affinen RLumen einer Dimension 2 3 und damit auch einer beliebigen unendlichen Dimcnsioii 246 lilotzek. Dic affinen RLunie einer Dimension 2 3 mit Fano-Sxiom gat studiert -cr erden koniien und soniit Vorarbeit fur die Einfuhrung der gruppentheoret ischen Axioniensystenie mid fiir die Kennzeichnung der dadurch chnrakterisierten Theorie erbracht rn erden kann. Gegeniiber dem System der Inzidenzaxianie von HILBERT [S] sind drei wesentliche Veriinderungeii vorgenoinmen woi den : die Verschmelzang der Axiomeiigruppen I uiid IV, wobei das (enklidische) Parallelenaxiom in seiner scharferen Fassung gebraucht wird, die Aufiiahnie des FANo-Axioms. das in Hinsicht auf die Einfuhruiig von Spiegehingen bedeutsani ist, uiid die Abschwachung des 7. Inzidenzaxioms von HILBERT [S], nach den1 die Dimension hochstens 3 ist, auf eine von LENZ [ l S ] angegeberie Fassung. I m Gegensatz zu HILBERT [S] werden in den Axiomen auch nur Punkt, Gerade und Ebeiie als Grundbegriffe verw-endet. I m Teil I1 der Arbeit wird die Theorie der affinen Raume einer Dimension -2 3 mit FASO-Axiom aus dem Spiegelungsbegriff aufgebaut.
