The paper introduces a Pharmabot: A Pediatric Generic Medicine Consultant Chatbot. It is a conversational chatbot that is designed to prescribe, suggest and give information on generic medicines for children. The study introduces a computer application that act as a medicine consultant for the patients or parents who are confused with the generic medicines. The researchers use Left and Right Parsing Algorithm in their study to come up with the desired result.
Abstract-The paper promotes adoption of Opinion Mining in the faculty performance evaluation system by the students using Naï ve Bayes algorithm. The study may help the university administrators to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the faculty members based on the textual evaluation made by the students written either in English or in Filipino language. The system provides graphical representation of the evaluation result in pie chart with the percentage of positive and negative feedback of the students. Based on the result of the survey, the respondents highly recommend the proposed system. Thus, the school administrators and educators will be more aware about the sentiments and concerns of the students. The reports generated from the developed system could be utilized to enhance the performance of the concerned faculty. In addition, the output from the objective evaluation of the teacher's performance could also be used as a basis for merit, awards, and/or promotion. Furthermore, the said innovation may encourage as well as improve fact-based decision making for university stakeholders.
Abstract-This paper presents the integration of Short Message Service Application Programming Interface in a Web-Based Student Support Services System for a university would facilitate two-way communication between the students, faculty and other stakeholders. It aims to keep in contact with students and deliver significant information arising from the University using the system's SMS facility offering auto-reply feature. Based on the survey, the respondents highly accepted the developed system. Thus, utilizing it as an alternative to the university's existing media of communication would enable the system users to avail of an effective and convenient manner of getting information from the university anytime. The manner of disseminating would become speedy, timely, and appropriate. Furthermore, using the system in an academe would result to paperless capturing, speedy recording and filing of students' records; standardized format of academic-related forms, timely dissemination and receipt of academic-related information through SMS; and production of accurate reports.Index Terms-Web-based student support services system, student support services, short message service, application programming interface, SMS-API.
The study presents the development of Competency Discovery System, which integrates enhanced Iterative Dichometer 3 (ID3) decision tree algorithm, to predict assessment competency of senior high school students. It was also successful in integrating the feature selection to select the data attributes that have impact on the performance of students. Pre-processing of data collected from school database and available spreadsheets was performed to determine the attributes that may possibly influenced the students' competency assessment. It provides a decision tool for teachers to enhance students' performance, particularly in the academic and technical aspect, based on factors that might affect their learning process. The academic and technical performance is often used for predicting the learning behaviour of the students and can be a crucial factor in building their better future. Moreover, the system identifies students that were likely to fail, and that may need assistance in view of the National Certificate programmingrelated assessment. The National Certificate assessment aim to regulate the students can perform to the standards expected in the workplace based on the defined competency standards. Passing the competency assessment shows that the students is ready to join the labour workforce. Predicting the future outcomes based on the historical records can help the teacher guide the students' assessment performance. This is also beneficial to students as they have the opportunity to prepare for taking the assessment. Majority of the participants assessed the software as 'highly acceptable' with support on its implied functions in terms of reliability, efficiency, usability, security, and user-friendliness.
Abstract-The paper promotes Smart Home Electricity Management System using Cloud Computing (SHEMS). Through the Internet it can collect on-line data power consumption, and can manipulate the power supply of the connected electrical appliances. In addition, it can generate daily, monthly and yearly reports on cost and kilo-watt per hour usage of each appliances/loads connected to the system. Thus, it enables the consumer or establishment to keep track the real-time power consumption which allows users to save electrical energy.
