The purpose of this paper is defend the development of a health system data warehouse with up-to-date and precise information concerning the real situation of work accidents in Brazil. This database would serve as support to initiatives such as delegated decision-making, increased accountability, service integration and evidence-based management of strategic decisions for the control and prevention of accidents. This database should be composed of information found in the Work Accident Communications (WACs), information collected in companies, hospital attendance to workers through SUS and JNSS. This whole set of information would make it possible to transform this database into a Data Warehouse, with organized and essential information for policy control and accident prevention. Later techniques could be used to extract from these data, information (Data Mining) that could indicate possible causes and ways to prevent certain types of accidents.
