O objetivo geral da pesquisa foi avaliar o uso de experimentos com materiais alternativos no processo de ensino e aprendizagem do conteúdo de Cinética Química. Para a realização deste trabalho, foi realizada uma pesquisa de campo com o público-alvo do tipo exploratória e descritiva com uma abordagem quali-quantitativa, no qual os participantes da pesquisa foram os alunos matriculados no 3º ano do Ensino Médio da Unidade Escolar são José em Aroeiras do Itaim-PI. No primeiro momento foi ministrado uma aula expositiva e dialogada sobre o conteúdo de cinética química e os fatores que influenciam na velocidade das reações, depois foi aplicado o questionário (pré teste). No segundo momento, realizada uma aula experimental sobre o mesmo conteúdo da aula, logo após o mesmo questionário foi aplicado novamente (pós teste). Os resultados foram avaliados e verificou-se que os mesmos são bastante válidos e positivos quando comparado ao nível inicial que a turma se encontrava, pois houve um crescimento considerável na comparação do resultado do pré-teste para o pós-teste
Nos últimos anos, devido as constantes transformações ambientais, a sociedade precisou reconsiderar suas ações em relação ao descarte e gerenciamento de resíduos químicos. Logo, a presente pesquisa teve como principal objetivo analisar a percepção dos discentes, quanto ao descarte de resíduos químicos do laboratório de Química do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Piauí – IFPI, Campus Picos. O estudo foi realizado nos módulos I, III, V, VII e IX dos cursos de licenciatura em Química, com a participação de 41 discentes. Primeiramente, foi realizado um levantamento bibliográfico e como forma de analisar os dados, na segunda etapa, foi aplicado um questionário para cada módulo. A partir dos resultados, notou-se a necessidade de implementar ações que diminuíssem o descarte incorreto dos resíduos gerados, além de verificar a importância de inserir um plano de gerenciamento de resíduos, promover discussões sobre a Educação Ambiental e a Química verde.
