tarihleri arasında çocuk acil servisine başvuran 1089 zehirlenme olgusu geriye dönük olarak taranmıştır. Olgular yaş, cinsiyet ve zehirlenme türü açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Başkent Üniversitesi Ankara Hastanesi Çocuk Acil Servisi'ne 01/01/2012-09/10/2017 tarihleri arasında zehirlenme (özkıyım ve kaza ile) nedeniyle 1089 çocuk başvurmuştur. Olguların %51,2'sini erkek, %48,2'sini ise kız çocuklar oluşturmuştur. Başvurular zehirlenme türü açısından incelendiğinde; ilaç ile zehirlenme sonucu başvuruların (%44,5) ilk sırada yer aldığı belirlenmiştir. Yaş gruplarına göre incelendiğinde; 0-3 yaş grubundaki ilaç zehirlenmelerinin diğer yaş gruplarına göre daha fazla (%54,6) olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Tüm yaş gruplarında ilaç ile zehirlenmelerinin erkeklerde kızlara göre fazla olduğu belirlenmiştir. Zehirlenme türlerinden zehirli hayvan ısırma ve sokmalarının (%30,0) ikinci sırada yer aldığı ve sırasıyla bunu ev içi kimyasallara maruz kalma sonucu oluşan zehirlenmelerin (%15,8), zehirli gazlar ile zehirlenmelerin (%6,4) ve fazla alkol alımı sonucu oluşan zehirlenmelerin (%3,2) izlediği tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç: Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda çocuk acil servise başvuran zehirlenme olgularının çocuk yaş grubunda gelişimsel dönem dikkate alındığında kaza sonucu olduğu, ergen yaş grubunda ise sıklıkla suicid amacıyla olduğu bulunmuştur. Zehirlenme olgularının yıllara göre değişiklik göstermesine rağmen genel bir artış olması dikkate alındığında acil serviste görev yapan sağlık çalışanlarının konu ile ilgili farkındalıklarının artırılması, acil servise başvuran ailelere çocuklarının gelişimsel dönemleri dikkate alınarak zehirlenmelere karşı önlemler konusunda danışmanlık verilmesi önerilebilir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Akut zehirlenmeler, çocuk acil servis, geriye dönük inceleme Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the poisoning cases presented to the pediatric emergency department of our hospital between 2012 and 2017. Methods: We retrospectively investigated age, gender and type of intoxication in patients who presented to the pediatric emergency department between 01/01/2012 and 09/10/2017. Results: One thousand eighty nine children presented to the Pediatric Emergency Department of Başkent University Ankara Hospital due to poisoning (suicidal poisoning or accidental poisoning). 51.2% of the children were male and 48.2% were female. The most common cause for admission was drug poisoning (44.5%) followed by poisoning resulting from animal bites (30.0%) poisoning with household products (15.8%), poisoning due to the inhalation of toxic gases (6.4%), and poisoning due to excessive alcohol consumption (3.2%). Drug poisoning was more common in patients in the 0-3 age group (54.6%) compared to children in other age groups, with boys involved in a case of drug poisoning more than girls in all age groups.
