This research aimed to describe the profile of the visualizer and verbalizer students to think analytically in solving mathematical problems. The subjects were 3 visualizer students and 3 verbalizer students obtained by VVQ questionnaire. The research data are the form of analytical thinking tests and interviews were then analyzed based on the indicators of analytical thinking in solving mathematical problems based on the stage Polya. The results obtained by the visualizer students mention known and asked by picture, modelize problem by picture, use any different strategies, and conclude by picture. In other hand, verbalizer students mention known and asked by words, modelize problem by word (symbol or alphabet), use same strategy, and conclude by words. In the final result, there is no difference ability between the visualizer and verbalizer students' cognitive style to think analytically in solving the problem because both are quite good.
Mathematics teaching and learning should equip students with the ability to think critically and creatively and problem-solving skill to enable them to compete in the industrial revolution 4.0. This descriptive explorative study explores the readiness and challenges faced by Indonesian junior high school (SMP/MTs) student in solving HOTs type mathematics test using Islamic context. Data were collected from a test-based open-ended questionnaire distributed to 164 students in the 8th of five schools in Sidoarjo East Java comprising 2 junior madrasas (Islamic schools), 2 Islamic-based junior high schools and 1 public junior high school. Descriptive analysis using SPSS and categorization of responses (referring to response options in the questionnaire such as have ever-never, necessary-unnecessary, answered-not answered, etc) show that considering their experience, the students are “less ready” to face HOTs type mathematics test. However, students expect that they can be given more practices in doing HOTs type mathematics questions to help them get accustomed to this type of question. Being unaccustomed to non-routine and lengthy questions, lazy trait and being unfamiliar to Islamic terms used as the context of the question becomes the challenges for the students in facing HOTs type mathematics test.
This study aims to (1) determine the difference between the improvement in students' self-regulation skills before and after the implementation of the GITTW learning strategy, and (2) describe students' perception of the skills of selfregulation before and after the implementation of the GITTW learning strategy. This is pre-experimental research using a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The population was made up entirely of students in their sixth semester at the Biology Education department who programmed the Physiology Anatomy of Human Body course in the 2017/2018 academic year in the Teacher Training and Education Faculty at University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya, Indonesia. The samples comprised of 20 students from one class. The data of students' self-regulation skills were obtained from the score of an essay test and inventory method. The data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics with the N-gain test. The results showed that the students' self-regulation skills improved after the implementation of the GITTW learning strategy. This can be seen from the average pre-test score of 36.2, the post-test score of 74, the average gain of 37.8 and the average N-gain of 0.60 included in the medium category. The average inventory self-regulation skills score before the implementation of the GITTW learning strategy reached 76.57%, including the strong category, and after it reached 80%, including the very strong category.
Kepercaayaan diri siswa sangat esensial karena mampu mempengaruhi ketercapaian harapan atau cita-cita siswa. faktanya, kepercayaan diri siswa di SD Negeri Jemundo II perlu ditingkatkan lagi. Penelitian ini mengguakan jenis penelitian pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran PAI materi enam rukun iman menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD berbasis aplikasi wizer.me dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa. Sedangkan teori model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik SD Negeri Jemundo II kelas I semester genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Adapun teknik yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: 1) teknik field note, 1) teknik validasi, dan 2) teknik angket. Sedangkan teknik analisis data terdiri dari analisis data proses pengembangan, kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian diperoreh bahwa pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran PAI menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD berbasis aplikasi wizer.me dikatakan valid, praktis dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa.
Math anxiety is a crucial problem experienced by almost all students. Due to the math anxiety affects the decreasing of mathematics achievement, many educators and researchers focused to overcome the math anxiety. The purpose of this study is to empirically examine the effects of math self-efficacy, social support, and academic flow on math anxiety. This research used a quantitative approach, by using psychological scales survey as a data collection. The participants of this study were 167 students which were collected using quota sampling technique at two high schools. The results show that there was a simultaneous significant negative effect of math self-efficacy, social support, and academic flow toward math anxiety. In addition, the partial analysis shows that there is no significant effect between math self-efficacy and math anxiety. While social support and academic flow have a significant effect on math anxiety. Thus, social support and academic flow can be used as strong predictors of math anxiety.
Dans cette étude, nous nous sommes intéressés à la défluoruration des eaux souterraines de Youssoufia (eaux d’exhaure) par percolation en colonne sur les cendres volantes de la centrale thermique d’El Jadida et à la désorption des fluorures par la suite. Les résultats obtenus ont montré que : - le rendement d'élimination du F- est d'environ 97 % dans nos conditions expérimentales avec un temps de séjour supérieur à 72 heures ; - la régénération des cendres est possible à l’aide de NaOH; - le nombre de cycles successifs tolérés par les cendres permettant d’atteindre des efficacités convenables est d’au moins huit.
Administration Credibility of the Computer-based and the Paper-and-pencil National Examination in Mathematics Subject. This survey compares the administration credibility between computer-based and paper-and-pencil national examination of one subject, that is, mathematics. The credibility was measured from the perspectives of RAVEN – reputation, ability to observe, vested interest, expertise, and neutrality. Three schools in Pasuruan regency were selected to represent the computer-based, and another three to represent the paper-and-pencil test. The data were collected after the 2017 national examination using questionnaires and interview guide. The questionnaires were distributed to the students and mathematics teachers, whereas the interviews were carried out with the headmasters. The results of data analysis reveal that the computer-based final exam have better credibility in the areas of ability to observe and expertise, while the paper-and-pencil one in reputation and neutrality. In terms of vested interest, the two types of test do not differ.Abstrak: Komparasi Kredibilitas Penyelenggaraan UNBK dan UNKP pada Pelajaran Matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan kredibilitas penyelenggaraan UNBK dan UNKP yang berfokus pada mata pelajaran matematika. Kredibilitas UN dalam penelitian ini dilihat dari aspek reputation, ability to observe, vested interest, expertise, dan neutrality atau RAVEN. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam kategori penelitian survei, dilakukan di Kabupaten Pasuruan pada Bulan April - Mei 2017 (setelah diselenggarakannya UN 2017). Sampel penelitian yakni 3 sekolah penyelenggara UNBK dan 3 sekolah penyelenggara UNKP dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner dan wawancara. Kuesioner diberikan kepada siswa dan guru matematika sedangkan wawancara dilakukan pada kepala sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa UNBK unggul pada aspek ability to observe dan expertise, sedangkan UNKP unggul pada aspek reputation dan neutrality. Pada aspek vested interest, perbandingan antara UNBK dan UNKP adalah sama.
The ability to think critically is one of the skills that must be possessed by students in the 21st century to face the development of all aspects of life. This study aims to analyze the discovery learning learning model to improve the critical thinking skills of fourth grade students on PAI and BP subjects at SDN Banyusokah 2 Sampang Regency. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which includes cycle I and cycle 2. The instruments used are observation sheets and critical thinking written tests. The results showed that there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills from cycle I to cycle with a percentage of 72% to 86%.
